"Brilliant romantic rural retreat."

10.0

Fantastic location near to Black Mountain and stunning views over the local area. Great little homely cabin that’s been well thought out and an absolute pleasure to stay in. Large patio area with a hot tub to relax in and take in the countryside views. Very welcoming hosts ensure you’re in for a great stay and provide plenty of local information too. Highly recommended!

"Charming tiny house"

7.0

We stayed for 4 nights over Christmas. The property is in a beautiful location. It is wonderfully quirky and cosy, and a lovely experience for a short stay. Overall Ruth and Eirean have renovated an old laundry into a characterful, cosy space with a well equipped kitchenette at one end, a built-in double cabin style bed at the other with a sofa and log burner in between. The ambience of the space is created by the many blankets, cushions and trinkets dotted about. It was tastefully decorated for Xmas, topped off with a Xmas tree and lights beside the front door. We were welcomed by Ruth, who greeted us with mince pies and fruit cake slices. A welcome touch. The hot tub was a treat in the evenings after a long day out sightseeing and walking. The property was clean, warmed by a radiator and log burner. The fridge was adequate and the cooker a full size. The kitchen is probably over supplied with crockery for what x 2 people would need for a short stay. Though it would be nice to have x 2 table knives to complement the large steak knives (we are vegetarian!). Tea, coffee, biscuits, preserves, some condiments provided. The bathroom is modern and beautiful, but could do with a shelf for toiletries as there was nowhere to put anything. The terrace is spacious, with rocking chairs, blankets and a wicker dining set. A barbeque is available but we didn't use it. We have made some observations about the online description of the property. But this in no way detracts from the fact that this is a delightful property which is ideal for a couple looking for a short retreat. Thank you Ruth and Eirean and your feline and canine companions.

We expected the cottage/cabin/chalet to be small, but we think the square footage was far less than 258ft. We had to side-step each other to move around. We felt the online description needs to be refreshed. It stated that it had one bedroom when it actually has a built-in cabin style bed, with a curtain, at one end of the living space. It is quite a climb to get into and a small stool was provided. The bathroom was next door. This meant that to access it, we had to go outside; chilly during a December night. There is no additional toilet; its used for storage by the owners, which is ok. One is sufficient. We did not use the flat-screen TV. It was on the wall at the end of the cabin bed, which meant we would have to lie on the bed to watch it. In the event and due to no fault of the owners the Wi-Fi was down due to a storm. The description stated there was a dining area and dining table. There was no dining area inside the cabin, and no room for a dining table; it was just too small a space. However a small foldaway coffee table was provided. Presumably, the idea being that this could be placed in front of the sofa to eat meals off (there was nowhere else it could be erected). In practice this was very uncomfortable and impractical. Thankfully there was a wicker table and chairs on the terrace. So with the patio heater on, this is where we ate our meals (it offered a pleasant enough alternative even in the depths of December, but it was too chilly to linger!). Although a compact ironing board is provided, there is no room to use it safely. The weather was misty during our stay. Nevertheless, whilst there is a river nearby, from the position of the cabin, we could not see it. But we enjoyed lovely views of the fields and rolling hills. Given the limited amount of space, it was challenging to find anywhere to put clothes and food sufficient for a 4 night stay over Xmas. To create storage space, we had to move ornaments outside. Needs a shelf in the bathroom.

Everything was great! We were waited with cake and prosecco, perfect as we celebrated my husband's birthday! We enjoyed the area, the weather, the sunset! We spent a few days out of London and disconnected from the routine!

"A cosy, warm and very well-located launching point for exploring Breocon."

8.0

Very cosy and warm, excellent location, a delicious cake was left for us to eat. The hot tub worked perfectly and the separate bathroom was new, warm and had hot water.

The pictures of the property do not quite reveal how small the space is. This was absolutely fine for my partner and I (and I am 7 months pregnant) but may prove challenging for people traveling together who are not so intimate!

"Perfect break away from city life."

10.0

We loved the peace and quiet and waking up to coffee with stunning views. The cabin was easy to fall in love with and perfect to spend evenings in by the fire after days of long hikes to nearby historical landmarks. All the extra touches made it that more special. Fresh eggs, homemade cake, jams, teas plus lots more! Bonus points for the amazing hot tub also. Thank you Ruth and your adorable pets for making our break fantastic.

Absolutely nothing to not love here!
