Caleb’s Farm Cabins

The owner, Gladys, is an amazing host. Responds immediately. She made sure I arrived and checked in safely because it had been raining on that weekend. The cabin was clean and comfortable. The entire farm is clean and I loved my mini retreat.

No breakfast provided. Nothing to like about the venue.

The road to the establishment is very terrible, especially after the rain. I had a tyre puncture on my way there. It is totally out of place and very far away from town. The owner of the establishment was very rude. First of all, when we arrived there the place was not ready for us. The guy we found there said he only knew that afternoon that there were people coming, and so there was no water and no electricity. He told us the other guy went ot "fix" the electricity, as well as the water. The whole afternoon we waited for them to finish and they couldn't. Mind you, it was stifling hot and we had just travelled a full 4 and half hours to get to the place. The only thing we wanted is to kick our shoes and relax after the long drive. We couldn't, because the guys were not winning with electricity and water. We called the lady/owner about our problem. She offered to take us to the other cabin that had electricity to get the fan at least and to charge our phones whilst they were fixing the other two cabins we booked. Then our chargers got burnt. I don't know if it was short circuiting or what. When we mentioned this to the lady, she said it was our fault that our chargers were burnt, and she shouldn't even had placed us into the other cabin in the first place. She was doing us a favour by doing that. A favour! And there was nothing she would do about our chargers. (It was a "good thing" that only the chargers were burnt - imagine if it was the cellphones!). When she saw that they were not winning with the electricity and we told her that we were not happy with our accommodation, she offered to look for accommodation in one her friends' establishments. When she called her friend, apparently she was fully booked. Why did she call her friend? She saw that her establishment was no in a good state to be lived in. And then she said we were free to go to any place we chose.

Awesome stay, beautiful and peaceful on the farm. We also loved the books. We will definitely come back again.
