Beach Front Resort!

Lovely spot by the beach, beautiful views. Nicely finished apartment, on ground level (owners upstairs). Owners lovely, really accomodating and great communication.

We booked this accomodation for my husbands grooms party to stay and get ready in! The location was amazing, right across from the beach where we could swim and head straight back into the house! We were able to take great photos on the deck out front and the owner was very each to communicate with. Highly recommend 😊

Great location. Literally across the beach. Very spacious with nice big rooms. Great views and lots of places to pick from whether it's breakfast at the Wharf Cafe or Beach Cafe or drinks at the Maraetai Boat Club ( easy to get signed in), or ice cream from Foreshore. Nice peaceful location. Beach can get busy but great for people watching :-)

We loved the space - lots of rooms and great fully equipped kitchen. Right across from the beach. The owners were super nice and very responsive.

The location was fantastic handy to cafes and some lovely places to have a meal in surrounding areas. It was great for cycling with beautiful coastal views in both directions. The swimming was perfect for the grandchildren . An easy ferry ride to city for shopping or a meal or a cheeky punt at the casino.

L'emplacement face à la plage est fabuleux avec une vue magnifique mais un peu bruyant avec la route entre la maison et la plage car trés fréquenté: voitures, musiques, etc.... accées facile à pied aux differentes plages, ballades alentours. Bus pour aller plus loin trés près de la maison.

Route assez fréquenté devant la maison et plage bruyante devant aussi.

The reviews and photos of this Air BnB are all correct. You rent the entire downstairs floor of the house, with the hosts living above. They are great at communication and were really happy to help with things like borrowing a stroller if needed, or just up for a friendly chat. As others have commented the only downside to the accommodation is that the bathroom is very small for a 3bdrm rental. Other than that the rest of the place is well decked out and comfortable. The beach is just over the road and the kids loved jumping off the wharf at full tide. close enough to supermarkets or takeaways if you need to pop out to grab something, or pubs/ restaurants if you don't want to cook. We found the living/ dining/ kitchen area was huge and accommodated the family well. Loved having a morning cuppa on the deck.

We traveled from out of town, and so had no local knowledge of the area where this house is located, if I had known the vibe of this beach we likely would not have stayed here, and we ended up leaving a day early. We did not realise that Maraetai is basically the premier party beach for south-east Auckland. Yes, this house is technically beach front, but your view is mostly of beach goers parked cars. The beach is loud, busy and packed with visitors from sun up to sun down with cars doing laps of the village. We stayed on a non-holiday weekend in spring, but it still felt cramped, think Kmart on Christmas eve, but with fireworks, rotary motors, uncontrolled dogs and car alarms. The loud beach parties didn't finish until almost midnight, with fireworks going off again at 4.30am. I don't want to put anyone off, but I felt like none of the other reviews really addressed quite how noisy and busy this area is. If you enjoy sleeping while you are on holiday, then Maraetai beach may not be the getaway that you are looking for. I would not recommend this are for anyone who needs to put their kids (or themselves) to sleep before midnight. None of this is the fault of the host or anything to do with the property, they were fantastic and I would stay with them again, if only their house was in a different part of the country.

the location on the beach is amazing. beautiful town and great vibe. the house is perfect for 5 or 6 people.

Majority of our time there was spent outside so we made the most of the great weather by sitting on the deck which was amazing.

Only 1 bathroom between 7 of us but doable so no complaints.

The property was spacious, clean and very comfortable and overlooking the beach. We found it to be the perfect place to relax at the end of our 4 week tour of New Zealand. Many thanks to Bob and Tina.
