The knives in the kitchen could benefit from being sharpened but everything else was fab!

My Cosy At the Ocean Good: Very large apartment with two bedrooms and two bathrooms (one shower over bath and the bath is very high, so a bit difficult to get in and out for older people). Lifts to the fourth floor, lots of security codes to get in the unit complex, unit and rubbish storage area.   Washing machine/dryer combination. Large clothes drying rack.  

Bad: When we were looking at the property we didn’t realize that it was so far out from the main shopping hub near Castlegate . It was a 27 minute walk to Union Square Shopping Centre and the Aberdeen Train and Bus Station. We were looking for an apartment with two bedrooms and two bathrooms as we are sisters and wanted our own room.  We received an email stating that the common areas in the apartment block are equipped with security cameras and the owners are notified if there is any activity that would indicate that house rules (regarding the number of guests) are being broken.  This did not concern us though as there were only the two of us. On our taxi ride from the railway station to the apartment, we realized just how far out from the shops and restaurants the apartment was.  We did however find a lot of supermarkets and some basic shops about 20 minutes walk away from the apartment. We were staying for six nights and our ‘welcome’ package (photo attached to this review) was very limited with teabags, coffee sachets, some sugar packets, some small milk tubs and two packets with two biscuits in each. There was also one dishwashing tablet and a (we call it rinse aid tablet in Australia) tablet provided - a six night stay with one dishwashing tablet…….well we were not going to go out and buy a packet of dishwashing tablets so we hand washed the dishes and didn’t bother with the dishwasher. Suggestions: There are two large windows in the family room and one of the windows has no window coverings at all and the other has a blind that, unfortunately, when wound down does not go back up again as the chain was off the roller, so we hand rolled the blind up and kept it up for the six nights we were there.  A large window with no blind makes the room open so that anyone in other apartments can see in so it would be handy if the owners could install a blind or curtains and fix the blind that is faulty.

Great location for both town centre and exhibition centre. Great views over Aberdeen and close to the beach. Easy check in and out. Comfortable stay and clean apartment with all facilities needed. Good size bedrooms with adequate room for our travel cot. Would definitely recommend and stay again!

A very light, roomy apartment. Beds were very comfortable, lounge is spacious. We had everything we needed in the kitchen area, with tea, coffee, sugar and little milk pods provided which was nice, as well as liquid soap dispensers in the bathrooms. Plenty of cutlery and china if you need it. There are great views. Easy walks to the beach and into town both of which take about 20-25 mins. Wi-fi was good. Hosts were helpful and check-in/out instructions were clear and accurate.

It would have been nice to have just a bit more visitor info such as simple instructions on heating temp/timing, and maybe some minimal information about what is nearby with recommended places to go to visit or restaurants. The hosts were responsive when I needed help.

Very convenient location.

It would be more comfy is the beds can be slightly bigger. The standard double is a bit small for two adults.

Clear instructions for arrival and key collection; one of few apartment blocks with a lift (godsend with a lot of luggage!); perfect location within walking distance of town, beach and supermarkets; allocated parking space; really comfortable apartment, well maintained and stocked with kitchen essentials. Had a good work space with comfortable seating and the washing machine came in handy. Quiet - not a lot of disturbance from the seagulls, despite its close proximity to the beach (have stayed in other apartments where the noise from seagulls has driven me to distraction!).

Bathroom storage would be a welcome addition, either by replacing the mirrors with a mirrored cabinet or with the addition of a little cupboard beneath the sinks.
