Absolutely nothing!

The check-in is a shambles, and they should be embarrassed by the system they use. They weren't there when they said they would be, and there were no keys in the key safe. It took me 45 minutes to get into my room from arrival!! Awful place and unfriendly, unprofessional staff.

The bedroom and bathroom were very comfortable and had beautiful character

The bed was comfortable and the room was large. Good TV.

The exterior was unkempt, on arrival I thought it was abandoned. The bathroom had limescale on the shower screen and taps. There was a large water stain on the ceiling of the bedroom and peeling paint everywhere. Decor very dated. The breakfast was cold and greasy on a cold plate. Poached egg was solid. It was so bad I didn't avail myself of the breakfast that was included on morning 2 as I couldn't actually face it.

Mari greeted us warmly and was very helpful - nothing was too much trouble and she was consistently pleasant to deal with. The hairdryer in the bathroom didn't work, and she lent me her personal hairdryer which was much appreciated. She gave me a jug of fresh milk on request. The room was large with plenty of hanging/drawer space. The important essentials were very clean - bed, bedding, towels, bathroom, furniture, carpet, mugs, fridge. The bed was comfortable. Plenty of tea and coffee available in the room, and I was pleased to see Yorkshire teabags. The building is very old with lots of character and quirks.

The building is in need of some TLC. For instance, peeling paint on the rusty windowframes. The walls of the bedroom could do with the occasional wipe-down, and the windows looked as though they hadn't been cleaned in weeks. The mirrors had obviously been wiped but were covered in smears. The room was too warm for me, but having the windows open meant that noise from passing traffic kept me awake - so I chose to close the windows, and the secondary glazing cut out almost all of the noise. (Although the traffic is much reduced overnight, there are cars passing every few seconds even in the early hours of the morning.) I didn't sleep very well. The hairdryer didn't work. The light in the bathroom came on with the pull switch but immediately went off when the switch was released. It took a little experimentation, but I found that holding the pull switch for a few seconds when the light came on, rather than letting it go right away, solved the problem. The full English breakfast was disappointing. Firstly, it was rather short on portion size - one sausage, one slice of back bacon, half a tomato, one triangle of hash browns, a short ration of baked beans and a poached egg (that was overcooked hard yolk). Secondly, it was served on a cold plate which meant that it was only luke-warm by the time it reached the table and stone cold less than halfway through eating it. The bacon was hard, and I suspect that it had been cooked at some time prior and then warmed up. The toast was nice.

It was a very pleasant stay. Efficient and helpful staff, good breakfast, comfortable en suite room.

Tidying the car park area would be a welcome improvement. It doesn't reflect the good experience that we had during our stay.

The location was perfect , close to Thames path as we walked all day long . Full English Breakfast was good. Bathroom was perfect

Unfortunately, room was on the road side and it was quite busy and noisy on that night. There was an emergency exit light in the room which was too bright and impossible to cover or switch off. We could hear steps and voices from the room above ours. Noise from the kitchen quite early on the morning as well. We definitely need ear plug and eye mask to stay there !

Despite some of the reviews I read previously I was really happy with our room which was comfy and clean (Room 4) The shower was big, the water pressure was good and water temp hot, so shower wise really happy. Very peaceful and quiet environment. Breakfast offered was choices of cereals, fresh fruit, fruit juices and the cooked breakfast was yummy and was presented very nicely with ample to eat, plus toast, jam etc Breakfast choice is required the night before and the time you would like to eat which you write down on a breakfast list as supplied. I found the owners to be very helpful. Added bonus, lots of on site parking which was why I booked here. The B&B is in a village location with lovely walks down by the river which we really enjoyed. Very pretty and totally relaxing area. The price paid for 2 nights was within my budget, some B&B's I contacted wanted the same amount for one night as I paid for two and No Breakfast either.

Our stay here was most enjoyable I would happily stay at this B&B again, however the first impression of the property looks tired and unattended when you arrive. The gardens around the car park need looking at and maintaining to create a more professional image on arrival to enhance this beautiful old thatched cottage. I only have one grumble, and it was that the toilet didn't flush so efficiently and took ages to fill up as the water trickled into the cistern. Apart from the toilet and the gardens etc which I only mentioned as a matter of "Bringing them to the Attention of the owners" we didnt have any dislikes

Breakfast was well cooked

Rattling water pipes. Very tired and in poor repair. No windows in the breakfast area. Too cramped in there. The whole place was not clean. The outside space was uninviting and filled with rubbish.
