avid hotel Van Horn

There was not much I liked there. The shower was good, I guess.

When we arrived, we actually arrived at the shift time (or after it actually), new staff was late. And one of the first thing she said is "I cant wait to go home". We wanted a room on the back, because the hotel was on a major highway. But it looked empty (it was early). I thought it would be no problem. Wrong. That person was not only incompetent but she was lazy and lying. We had to try 3 times before getting a 4th room that was maybe ok. The back would have been a nice view in the distance, but first was a dump. The hotel rooms are absolutely depressing. No decoration whatsoever. A flat grey throughout. Horrible. I hated my stay there. It was overall clean, but for instance there was a huge stain on the stairs that clearly was leftover from someone puking. There was a bunch of differed maintenance (our curtain would not roll up. Always full down. No way to see outside. We had to find a way to make it hold up). And they put their handicap rooms on top floor, the furthest away possible from the elevator.

New, clean facility. Breakfast staff was friendly.

1. Believe it or not, it's not yet Google-mapped (Mar 2026), so Siri took us 3 miles away to a dead-end. The staff is aware of this problem and yet the hotel offers no preemptive guidance with old-school directions or tips. They just let you get lost. 2. Staff customer service level is typical, which means it generally sucks. It's not bad, but again, it's just typical. 3. Wifi is captive portal, which is normal for hotels; however, the staff themselves don't even know you have to add an extra digit to your room number to gain access. All they could say was "we've had this problem before, but I don't know what's wrong." 4. Hot breakfast mystery eggs could not be confirmed as actual eggs.

Clean, friendly staff, bed/pillows comfortable, great shower

Waffle maker wasn’t working and breakfast sausage wasn’t good. That’s the only negatives.

Reminiscence of the IHG hotel chain and very clean and luxury quality

I do not mind, but it is right on the freeway

It was fine for me

Staff greeted me when I walked in and was friendly, check-in was quick, the entire hotel was clean, and there was a really nice scent in the room when I walked in.

I was glad to see there was a little mini fridge but there was no freezer component and I could not refreeze my cooler packs. No coffee machine in the room.

The staff was friendly and professional. The breakfast had lots of choices, and the eggs were particularly good. The room was fine, the bed was very comfy, and the shower was delightful.

Only one minor detail: The the bottom attachment of the grab bar in the shower is loose. Should be an easy fix. :)
