Riverside Cottage, Bridge of Balgie, Glenlyon, Perthshire

This is a lovely cottage on the banks of Glen Lyon. Log fire, comfy bed, well-equipped kitchen. For a old cottage, it was well insulated and warm. It's very peaceful and although next to the road, there's very little traffic. The views along the river are stunning. The Post Office has a terrific cafe and is just 5 minutes walk across the bridge. We found the WiFi to be fine and were able to stream movies etc. with no issue. The place was immaculate and apart from a dodgy hinge on a kitchen cabinet, everything was in great condition.

I guess an earlier standard check in and later check out time would be nice but that's just being picky!

This is a very special place-if you research your trips, you will most likely know it is a very remote location-that is why it's so special! The tea shop around the corner is just as special-such breathtaking views, great walks/hikes-both on quiet roadways and/or nearby mountains/hills-the 2 way in from Killin(can see the reservoir/dam(amazing views), and from the east are so spectacular. The home/location itself was perfect for us, as we appreciate quiet, private settings-kitchen equipped, love the log burner, king-sized bed-a must for us, and the outdoor space at river-wonderful! Wish we could find this type of home to purchase, but we know they're too special to go on market-thank you Meggernie estate for a special experience.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, although it is a little bit difficult to get to. The magical setting and cozy fireplace were perfect. We enjoyed the Glen Lyon Tea Shop too!

The location is unbelievable the garden backs onto the river. The cottage is beautifully equipped. Warm and very comfortable. Log burner is very efficient and easy to use.

The only negative was the key safe had been moved and we hadn't received an updated location found it by default but would have liked to have received an email as regards the move.

Stunning location and views onto the river. Supremely quiet location. Very cosy in the evenings.

The location is perfect if you like being remote and the scenery is stunning.

Location , location, location Well apart from location, we loved well this cottage was preserved, cleanness, privacy and safety. As parents of autistic child we ware able to let him running around freely happy at inside the cottage’s compound without the worry of the world 🧘🏿‍♂️ 🧘🏾‍♀️
