Ma Pi Leng EcoLodge

This Eco Lodge is situated over a very steep mountain, thus requiring a series of stairs to get everywhere, but it is worth it and the views from everywhere are mesmerizing, as each room is perched overlooking the canyon. The food menu is rather extensive for Ha Giang area, specializing in Buffalo cooked several different ways. Also try the local spirits which they gladly let you test, I chose the Indian Mulberry Wine. Rooms have great hot water and are small but adequate, very cozy with you partner.

Difficult to say, maybe the lack of in my opinion 'Safe Parking' for motorcycles, but it is adequate.

The stars at night from the balcon are literally mind blowing. For a moment I really thought Perseus was above me with a daimonté sword. Don’t even get me started on the sunrise, certaintly one of the best there Is. WOW factor X MAXXX

Our bedroom was a lovely beautifully decorated cabin with a very comfy bed and everything we needed. The view from the room was stunning of the mountains and river below but sadly for us the view disappeared quite quick due to the weather. It was quite peaceful and the food served in the evening and for breakfast was very good indeed.

When we arrived there was no power for several hours despite us being told that it would come on after half an hour. The steps up to reception and to the cabins higher up were treacherous in every sense. We were not warned or told to take care and they were very slippy due to the moisture high up and it was raining on and off. Most likely due to the rain that only this particular area was experiencing, it would seem, plus the cooler conditions, everything felt damp in the room including the bed and very soon all our belongings felt damp too. The room was full of mosquitos. It helped when we could plug in our mosquito repellent and start the fan on the ceiling but of course there was no power for 3 hours. Water wasn't hot coming out of the tap or the shower. We decided not to stay another night and still had to pay which was fair as the weather was out of the owner's control. But as soon as we told reception that we would be checking out, a cleaner appeared at our room and insisted on coming in to see what we had used in terms of purchasable items even though we had just before paid for what we used. We felt hurried out at 8.30 am even though the room was paid for by ourselves for a whole other night. Having said all this, our main criticism was the dangerous steps which even on a fine dry day would test the youngest, fittest and bravest of people. Also we had to park our bike on the road as no parking.

Stopped here while touring on a moped. Great location rather than staying in Mèo Vạc

The room has the most amazing views with floor to ceiling windows.

The young lady at the front desk displayed a noticeably poor attitude, which I found unacceptable. Her manner of handling issues and attending to customers leaves much to be desired and warrants thorough review and improvement. As a first-time visitor, my overall experience was quite disappointing due to these service shortcomings

Location is amazing. You feel like you’re in a 3d movie experiencing an ever changing landscape. Definitely a location and hotel to remember
