DEThe breeding Eiderducks and the Huskies
There is no running water in the whole place. A dry toilet outside, a neck breaking path to teach the toilet, or a long way round.
GBGreat location by the dog kennels and the breeding Eiders (a lot of tourists come to the spot). The walk to town is around 18 mins. The property is spacous with a wood fire and electricity! But as advertised no water so you get a big water container for all your needs and a dry toilet outside.. Good times.

NOThe cabin was warmed up and very clean when we arrived. No check-in process whatsoever.
Lack of toilet and shower and no statement about that in the Booking ad, even though specifically asked about in Q&A. Shower also listed as available in the ad which is untrue.
NOSo charmy and authentic. A walk that makes the whole experience so much better!
NLHet is een stoere sfeervolle Lodge waar je echt het gevoel krijgt van het leven op Svalbard. Fenomenaal uitzicht op de bergen en vlakbij Polar sign. Buiten het dorp. Warm en extra houtkachel voor sfeer. Goede wifi, veel stopcontacten en heerlijke bedden. Als je een basic ervaring wilt zonder stromend water en een douche in de sneeuw, is dit jou plek.
Dat ik maar 1 maand in deze lodge kon blijven, voelde als thuis. Ik kom zeker terug.
DEThe property is located Beautifully outside of Longyearbyen but still within city borders. Feels very cozy as long as you are able to adapt. Personally I did not mind at all and was very happy with my week spent at the lodge and would not have it any other way. Also the dogs right outside were such a beautiful little bonus
Getting information/contact with the owner when booking through this portal is not easy. Especially transfer from the airport was a big question mark. My recommendation is to take the flybus and get off at the university. Then walking the distance if you’re physically able to. Otherwise you can always call a taxi. Getting water is only possible through canisters and showering is obviously not really happening unless you get really creative. If you can live with a little fewer conveniences for a week this lodge ist an absolute recommendation.
