Marina Magic!

The location was good, but it was very noisy until 3 am due to the clubs and restaurants.

Check-in was at 3 pm, however, we were not given the check-in details until 3:25 pm. This is unacceptable, we had travelled and had been told that the instructions would be given before 3 pm. Also, the instructions for the car park were not clear at all!

Large cockroach on bed...we stayed 2 nights only because we had no transport to take us back home south Auckland. I spent a lot of money as I do only once a year to have a night away. I don't need to look for issues, but issues found us when we came back from time outside. We didn't need to use balcony because it was too cold and yet owner accused us of leaving balcony door open to let in bugs. When my husband and I came back to apartment we found a huge cockroach on the bed. I can't believe Danielle; proprietor of establishment didn't believe us. Later on spoke with Katie who was sympathetic and end result wasn't believed. I took photo of large cockroach as evidence and tried to catch it. It fled to under the bed. It wasn't until the next morning after 10am that housekeeping finally arrived!!! What was I to do but stay there as we had nowhere else to go. I have stayed in many places over the years and have never ever come across this situation.

Where do I start? We are not prone to complain. This is difficult for us but a necessary warning. Check in was difficult and confusing especially in the rain with baggage. The unit was tired and shabby, but the worst thing about it was the bed ! It was terribly , uncomfortable and very hard !! The stains on the mattress were obvious, horrendous and extremely unhealthy. It should have been replaced long ago. It was stomach turning when we discovered the stains. To add to this we were cold as the doona was a lightweight one when the weather was chilly and there were no extra blankets anywhere in the room to remedy this. The shower head leaked badly. Some of the management staff really tried to help some didn’t and one was aggressive. We asked for a refund but as per the agreement, it was refused. We moved out and sought other accommodation at great cost for the last three nights as we couldn’t bear to stay a moment longer. Do not be fooled by the photos or the price. We were.

No Milk for your coffee’s

very close to CBD and not bad for the price.. BUT..

located just above night bars.. good soundproof windows but still some annoying background noise past midnight. some parts of the apartment need a bit of refresh but globally quite nice. the only serious downside is the staff on the phone. tricky to reach (bad reception in all meanings), ass friendly as prison guards, giving you directions that only locals can understand and lecturing you if you make a mistake. if we go back, it will be only for the price and location.
