"We loved the Abby and were sad to leave."

10.0

Everything was beautiful and clean. Bubbly and cookies and milk!

Was great all around, would have been able to book the pool for more than once a day for an hour. But was fine, we kept busy with other things.

"Tranquil stay in historic Fort Augustus"

9.0

The location was fantastic. Perfect for fort Augustus & the loch & canal. Lots of amenities on the doorstep. The apartment was lovely, great size & very well equipped & maintained. We enjoyed the history of the building. Loads of extra facilities made for a great family stay. The snooker, the giant chess in the centre of the cloisters, then the tennis court & swimming pool. It was also so tranquil. Gorgeous grounds. We enjoyed our monster fish & chips watching cricket practice on the cricket ground out front. The views of the loch were also stunning. Fort Augustus is crowded with day trippers during the day so it was lovely to enjoy the peaceful parts of the day in the mornings & evening. I recommend calling at a supermarket on your way to stock up. We went to m&s food in fort William & this was really appreciated as otherwise stock up options are very limited. All in all, a very lovely, relaxing stay.

It was very difficult to find where we needed to collect the keys from and the concierge girls were quite unhelpful. reception is buried away underneath the building- it’s out front, main entrance, down some steps. We kept getting lost getting back to our apartment so some better sign posting would be useful. After 3 nights we had our bearings but it took a while. Don’t book this apartment if you have very heavy luggage or mobility problems. No lifts & three stories up. Ok for us, but not for all. It would be fantastic if the apartments had a little shop or vending machine for milk, fresh bread & other essentials. Only shop close by is the spar & at the wrong time this can be extremely busy.

"Memorable stay, with some quirks."

9.0

Stunning building and facilities, felt like we were staying in an old castle (which we were). Lots to do and that's outside of the room itself. The room was clean and laid out like a standalone apartment, with comfortable beds and great design.

The room itself was great but felt unfinished. Carpets that weren't fully laid, showers that didn't seem properly plumbed (the water did not drain), and toilets that shook the whole apartment when flushed. I also understand there might be some code to consider with fire doors, but having so many heavy fire doors IN the unit felt very closed off, and I didn't love being so separate from my kids in the other room.

"Es war wunderschön, wir wollten nicht weg!"

Die Lage am See, die traumhafte Unterkunft. Man hat sehr viel Platz und Ruhe.

Das die Türen im Appartement von selber schließen. Das war sehr laut.

"Lovely stay near Loch Ness"

8.0

We had a very enjoyable stay at Abbey Church Apartment 25 and would rate it 4 out of 5 stars. The building and grounds are absolutely stunning—the architectural details alone make this a memorable place to stay. The property feels unique and full of character, and it’s clear a lot of care has gone into maintaining it. The apartment itself was comfortable and well-equipped. The full kitchen had everything we needed to prepare simple meals, and we appreciated the thoughtful touches like tea, coffee, sugar, and biscuits. Essentials like dish soap, dishwasher tablets, and laundry detergent were also provided, which made things very convenient. We used the washer and dryer without issue, and the drying rack was a helpful addition. The living room was cozy and a nice place to relax after a day out, though the TV channel selection was somewhat limited. One of the highlights of the stay was the shared amenities. The indoor pool and sauna are beautiful (be sure to reserve in advance), and we also enjoyed the billiards room, ping pong table, and giant chess. It’s a great place to unwind in the afternoons after exploring the area. Overall, a unique and beautiful place to stay with great amenities and thoughtful touches—just a few minor inconveniences that don’t take away from the overall experience.

There were a couple of quirks to be aware of. The water pipes in the building are very loud—using the shower, toilet, or sink can sound a bit like a cruise ship horn while running, which can be surprising at first. We were also asked to take out the trash and recycling upon departure, which was reasonable. However, the receptacles were quite unpleasant, and since we had already turned in our keys, there wasn’t access to a sink afterward. Future guests may want to take care of trash before returning keys so they can wash up before leaving.

"Lujo en Lago Ness"

10.0
