Cosy Penthouse suite happily sleeps up to five

Clean, spacious, comfy bed

Twice our cleaner came into apartment without knocking. First to give us a bath mat back which was still damp. Second time entered apartment on first morning at 0855 ( we were stopping 2 nights) asking when we were leaving. On our return from a walk our door was unlocked making us think she had been again as we had locked all the many doors. Also our bathroom bin had sanitary wrappers in from previous guests.

The place is nice and clean! I never received the lockbox code to retrieve my room key. I called booking.com, but was on hold for a long long time without any representative answering my call. The same situation happened when we were in London. Luckily, after a long wait, someone came out from the property to let us in. Please improve your customer service. Thanks!

It's fine, cheap so you get what you pay. Clean enough

Too many steps into it, fairly far outside central hallifax, not for tall people (lots of slopped ceilings) and honestly could do with a mirror or two aside from the one in the bathroom. Also could not find a hairdryer, would be good addition.

The beds were comfortable, lots of towels available.

It felt very basic with no natural light and no homely touches. The stairs smelt strongly of urine but the flat itself didn’t, thankfully. It was just very basic - I felt the kitchen had a bit of a musty smell and could have done with a deep clean. Things like no bin liner in the kitchen bin with mould in the bottom and a rusty shower caddy just made you less comfortable. That being said, it was great value for money (we were 2 but it could have slept 5) so good value overall.

It was warm, very warm! That's about it.

First of all, it's like Fort Knox getting in, through one door then another door then 15 steps leading to another door then another 15 steps to another door and finally you've arrived! It wasn't exactly the cleanest place. The smoke alarm in the living room was open which to me means it doesn't work. One of the lights in the bathroom is hanging out of the hole. Toiletries that are supposed to be supplied, consist of two bottles of conditioner!! Washing up liquid was watered down big time! A frying pan and 2 pans for cooking, no roasting dish for the oven! A tea towel that left black fluff on all the nicely washed plates etc... There is a washing machine but nowhere to hang wet clothes except the line outside (no use to us when it rained the whole time) A sky box that's just sat there, not plugged in. At least take it away! Beds are very old, uncomfortable and creaky! My dad stripped his bed this morning, he took the cover off the duvet and the duvet had stains on it, stains that looked like washed blood stains! I dropped something that rolled under the bed and when I went to get it, the dirt under the bed was shocking! On the facilities it states wardrobe or closet, there is absolutely nowhere to put your clothes, we had to live out of our suitcases the whole 3 days we were there. Someone downstairs was playing very loud music and slamming doors late at night! We will never stay here again, we will pay extra and go stay in a hotel!!

The location was amazing. It was a short 15 minute walk to the town centre.

I found the shower very difficult. There was a machine to turn it on and no instructions on how to use it. The host provided detailed instructions but I was still having difficulty. I found out on the last day that I had been turning the knob on the machine to the wrong side, not knowing that the bumps on the knob were what you turned to the hot or cold. There definitely need to be VERY clear instructions on it's use.

We had a great stay here. The beds were comfortable, and we had everything we needed, And our host was super helpful!
