4 bed loft apartment overlooking historic town

Great for.larger family. Looks like everything was there. We didnt use the kitchen area

Needs some security lighting in car park and by entrance, it was very dark. Also the automatic lighting was a bit slow in some places whilst climbing stairs again a bit precarious in the dark. Also, the maserators in toilets are noisy even when not on a flush, this was noticable in room 10. Overall though the place was good and I would stay again

Good communication from staff prior to arriving. They answered all my questions. Comfy beds and enough hot water for 8 people to shower!

Access - Parking is hidden away at the rear of the property down a narrow alley. We had directions but there was no signage to say parking was allowed in between the vans. Someone eventually came out to direct us which was great, but a couple of signs at the alley entrance and in the spaces would solve this. Security - the loft doesn't lock. We were unsure if people on the lower floors could access it while we were out. Having said that, we felt safe the whole time. Expectations - the photos give the impression this is a high quality 'stately home' style apartment. This is not the case. It is a rundown ex-hotel. A refurb has been completed and the accommodation is adequate and comfortable but I think it needs a more honest representation to avoid disappointment.

Front door didn’t lock, a couple of showers didn’t drain quickly so we’re at risk of overflowing

Perfect for our needs. Great place for a family get together to celebrate a milestone birthday at the nearby Civic Centre.

Facilities are a little tired, but everything worked and was clean and the cooked breakfast was excellent.

Poor location, property in need of repairs, 2 out of 4 beds broken, window smashed, drawers missing, shower door held with cable tie , mould on ceilings,paper covering box in toilet, bench in kitchen sat only 4 people, door in kitchen covering hole in wall , windows in bedroom didn’t open painted closed , bedroom doors didn’t shut , guttering blowing in wind , couldn’t lock flat door , bath in one bedroom was so dirty , very dissatisfied

Quiet location. Plenty of space for five people.

The accommodation suited our needs with 4 bedrooms all with ensuite for 3 young children and 3 couples. I liked the fact that there were plenty of towels and tea towels plus kitchen essentials such as washing up liquid, clothes, etc. It's a quirky place with lots of character. There is adequate room to store clothes and toiletries in all the rooms. It is very central close to shops and places to get food. There was free parking for our 3 cars (albeit tricky to manoeuvre into a space). There is a great park just up the road with children's play area. There are games and books to use during your stay which is a lovely touch. The host was very responsive, helpful and quick to respond to queries.

The living area is too small for 9 especially to eat - needs a wider table. The kitchen area is very cramped if catering for a larger number. More cutlery is needed, there weren't enough forks! Some of the rooms are very 'tired' and in need of tlc eg our bedroom door wouldn't shut properly. As it is a loft space, the low and sloping ceilings could be uncomfortable for taller people (2 of our party are over 6 foot). Some of the mattresses are very soft and would benefit from replacing. Although it is centrally heated, it could be quite cold in winter but that is probably to be expected with such an old building.

The apartment was lovely, with good facilities and a nice park just a minutes walk away.

The 2 flights of narrow stairs up to the apartment were not ideal for my elderly farther.
