"Excellent hotel that is sargassum free!!"

We had a fabulous stay at the Fairmont. The booking was done at the last minute because we were due to stay at a much smaller boutique hotel however we were very nervous of having our holiday ruined due to the sargassum (seaweed - google it before booking Mexico). We were already in Mexico and witnessed knee deep 20m wide sargassum belt (rotting and smelly) further down the coast at a different hotel. I emailed the Fairmont whilst in country to check if they had any protection, after they confirmed that they did we cancelled the other hotel and booked here. We are so pleased that we did, you are made to feel special from the moment you arrive and their seaweed protection barrier gave us everything we hoped for, white sands, turquoise ocean and no knee deep seaweed to wade through. The restaurants were lovely, the service exceptional and the room very relaxing. Bikes and golf carts help you to get around whilst the quietness and size of the site didn’t make it feel like you were on a vast resort. One word of advice, book restaurants before you arrive (via emailing the concierge) or on your first day if you’re on an extended trip otherwise you may well be stuck eating at 5pm or 9pm! In high season, this is a must.

This hotel surpassed our expectations. The food, the service and the amenities were fantastic. We have high standards and were satisfied on all levels. Julio, Jesus, David, Tonomatu, Rodrigo and Juan are so helpful and friendly! Don’t hesitate if you’re seeking rest and relaxation within a gorgeous setting.
