Classio Royale By iO Hotels Near Golden Temple

Good location- close to golden temple yet away from craziness. Be particularly aware that getting to an accommodation next to the temple (this hotel is not) will be a nightmare (or almost impossible) with a taxi/uber. Best to choose the hotels outside (like this one) and take a short electric rickshaw ride (50-100 rs based on your negotiation skills) New hotel and well maintained. Staff is well balanced- not exceptionally eager nor rude or disengaged.

Heating in the room is not reversed cycle. The rooms are insulated and have good blankets. But if you are a cold sleeper, you might struggle in very cold nights. Design flaw for the shower panel and water will spill over the dry area such as basin and toilet. Although a quick penguin walk with a towel will fix it in no time :)

We booked 6 rooms, all the rooms were clean, hygienic and comfortable, the staff, especially Malkeet ji, were understanding and cooperative all the time.

Absolutely nothing

After spending 36 hours on the train from Mumbai with no internet access we arrived at the hotel at 9.30pm to be informed by an extremely rude receptionist that our booking had been cancelled by senior management. This despite confirming our arrival time of between 8 & 9 pm a month prior to arrival it was cancelled at 6pm by email on the day mwhich I hadn't received. We were then left to find somewhere else to stay at 9.30pm on a Saturday night. Avoid this hotel at all costs, not even had an apology.

Staff are really good including hotel manager S.Malkeet Singh. Rooms are clean and decent size.

Meals were very tasty. Location is ideal for visit to Golden Temple, Jallianwala Bagh, market and various eating joints.
