Beautiful clean and tidy . All that was needed was provided .

It was clean and tidy and well equipped.

It was not the lodge I was expecting. I’ve stayed in lodges in the past and to me this was a caravan. This was confirmed by a member of staff.

Really easy to collect but because the hook in the key lock is broken and the key rings is big It takes a bit of fiddling to get the keys in and close it again.

We ran out of gas No path to the van so was covered in grass when we got into the van The second bathroom is just a toilet

Cayton Bay is a wonderful place to stay.

The fire kept turning itself off and going cold. I booked it on the same day and whilst travelling was told that they couldn't get the cleaners in so we had no clean bedding or towels, but there was some under the bed. When I got there I had to move all the dirty laundry to one side and there wasn't enough bedding or towels for us. The caravan needed hoovering. There was food under the sofa and behind it. Even when the cleaners came in this wasn't done. Due to no said cleaning there was also no black bin liners or toilet roll. Luckily I brought my own but as advertised it said there was some and wasn't. We were told the facilities were open and it was advertised on booking.com that it was. When we got there nothing was open, not even the shop! (Luckily I had the essentials I needed, otherwise we would have had to travel to get something, even though it was advertised that everything was open) I complained to the owner who said we could check out later (this is clearly a running theme- maybe the previous people checked out later and therefore it couldn't be cleaned) We then got an email saying we needed to be out for 10am so we made sure we were. Netflix was advertised as being available however you have to log into your own account. There was no welcome book for sign ins for Netflix or for anything, just an email saying the code for the van and WiFi (which was decent) Disappointing stay, the owner got in touch a fair bit but didnt really solve any issues. Booking.com failed to take into account any issues we had and kept saying contact the host. The host offered us a discounted rate if we wanted to stay again, which we 100% wouldn't. So why would I take that. We got offered a small refund of £80 which didnt even cover the additional fees we had to pay for swimming in Scarborough because the facilities which were advertised weren't open.

The lodge was lovely clean and welcoming with plenty of room for a family of 6 and 2 dogs very equipped with everything u need very polite owners perfect location i will be booking again 😊

Staff on site have no rush about them so we was left (with no fault to the owners as she did her upmost to try help resolve the issue in a timely manner) with no gas or heating for over 13 hours
