It was not a guest house, it was a shared house (HMO) not suitable for families. Didn’t feel safe. The room we were staying in was small and we shared a kitchen and bathroom with the other rooms. Also impossible to get hold of owner.

Firstly owner/host of property was not there to greet guests upon checking in. Moreover, no prior information was given that guests upon arriving at property has to contact owner/host for information to access booked room. If not coincidentally that another guest was there at time when I arrived, there's no way was I able to get into property. Furthermore, I didn't feel safe at all once inside property due to one other guest's portrayed demeanour. For my own safety concerns, I immediately vacate property on my own accord. And even knowing I will lose money already paid for said booking I ended up booking into another accommodation. It's definitely not the kind of accommodation that fits any kind of safe environment especially for single travellers on their own

Drove 300 miles arriving at 20.00 hours and was told to go to room 3 and starting to enter the code someone called out from inside to go away. Then got told to go to room 2, the code would not work, so they rang someone else in the house to open it for me. On entering the room we found clothes spread on a bed, laptop and other equipment. I was told it should have been vacated that morning. So all rooms were in fact full and it would be sorted. After waiting and the owner failing to answer my calls I was becoming stressed. 21.00 he finally answered and was told they had no rooms and would have to find other accomodation. After sitting in my car trying to find somewhere without luck I received a call from his wife saying she had a friend that had a room I could have and gave me a phone number to ring. So I managed to get a room to stay elsewhere!

It was not the cleanest place. Shower was very small Other guests were very loud at 7 am Food and cool drink was removed from the fridge by someone else

The bed was comfortable.

There was a window on the ground floor with no curtains. The bathroom sink had toothpaste still round the edges. It was beyond difficult to get a hold of the owner to check in. There was a random man asleep in the communal area.

Friendly staff members. Even just calling or sending a message asking whether everything was okay in the morning or evening was wonderful. Given that I was unfamiliar with the area, it was fantastic to even receive directions.

To at least have the essentials, such as sugar, tea, and coffee. Since my room was located downstairs and I frequently use the loo, climbing the stairs was a bit of a hassle.
