Great breakfast and the perfect location in the heart of the village. A great walking base for this section of the Esk Valley Way. Really comfy bed. Great views from the lovely beer garden at the rear of the pub.

The noise from a big event in the bar below was quite a lot. Although this was a one-off race night the sound carried through the floor so we had to have the telly turned up to drown out the noise/p.a system till the event finished just before midnight. I would imagine on a normal night it would be quiet enough though.

"We would stay here again!"

The staff were wonderful, it was such a warm family orientated stay. We ate there for an evening meal with was so tasty, the value for money was also brilliant. The room was spacious with great facilities, we had a fantastic view from our room window too! 100% we will be returning!!

I had scrambled eggs for breakfast, extra toast and plenty of coffee and fresh orange juice. Definitely worth the money. the room was really nice, not too big (but I was traveling alone so didn't matter) but it was really well appointed, the bed was amazing and comfortable, and there was plenty of tea/coffee/water in the room.

next time i will go for a bigger room I think, but thats just personal preference. With the room being above the pub of course there is noise coming from the pub but after around 10pm or so it goes really quiet. Again, not a problem for someone like me who goes to sleep late but for those who prefer an early night definitely go for one of the non road facing rooms.
