no hot water woodlice in the bathroom curry stains on quilt and piss stains on floor breakfast didnt really count as one bar didnt really count as one crackheads

I arrived to find the place all locked up. There was a telephone number to ring on the door and I was then informed that the place was closed due to electrical issues. I had arrived there on foot as I was hiking in the area and had no other means of transport. It is in the middle of nowhere and there were no buses travelling on a Saturday at that time. I was unable to get a taxi so I had to resort to hitch-hiking. Luckily some kind locals picked me up, otherwise I'm not sure what I could have done on a very cold and windy evening on my own. The service was extremely poor, to say the least and I should be grateful for a full refund and some recompense for my severe inconvenience. I was taken to Newcastle and was able to find alternative accommodation but not able to continue my hiking holiday on the Sunday.

The bed was comfy enough

No kitchen no bar no staff except one guy who did his best to help but hotel was freezing no heating in bedroom just electric heaters hot water takes ages to get hot no local shops or takeaways or pubs and nobody will deliver due to distance you need your own transport or be able to afford a taxi and it's expensive

We arrived very late at night / early am and the staff member on site was incredibly helpful and welcoming, he was quick to show us to our rooms, explain how to use the facilities and gave contact information should we need to reach him. When we did have issues that same man was happy to come and try to assist, we unfortunately had to end our trip early and find alternative accommodation but he was very helpful and arranged with the “boss” compensation for our troubles.

Unfortunately the actual accommodation was lacking, we woke up the next day to shower and noticed there was no hot water available. One of our group found that their door did not shut securely and we had expensive gear with us. We unfortunately were in the position that we didn’t have time to wait approx 2 hours for showers due to our plans, and we couldn’t leave our gear behind safely. The rooms were fine but run down, had it not been for the other issues we faced with showers and doors it would have been fine to stay in (comfortable bed, basic continental breakfast available) unfortunately the issues that presented themselves would have added major complications that we couldn’t resolve.

Owner hasn't got a clue how to run a hotel ...he knocked on my door at 8:30am to ask if I'd go buy him some bread and milk. Towels and bedding were damp on arrival...had about 2 minutes of hot water in the morning. Noisy people next to me up til 2:30 in the morning. Didn't feel safe and secure. No privacy and the owner freaked me out. Avoid.

Very quaint hotel that has been renovated. Room was very warm and cosy. Clean facilities and helpful/friendly staff.

It was a budget hotel that exceeded expectations. The new owners are trying very hard to make a new venture work and to use and up keep a beautiful old building. Don't expect a 5* hotel but DO expect vale for money and staff that go out of their way to look after you.
