Warm welcome by host James who explained everything to us and told us the history behind “ Unbox” .Great location outside Durham with beautiful wild flowers and fields and river outside. Excellent living space. Every detail thought about and provided for. A great base to explore from but also to relax and enjoy. We’ll be back!

James the host is an absolute star and makes the experience that little bit special. He’s close enough to be on hand for help, advice or anything at all but not in any way intrusive. The lodge itself, immaculate, comfortable, inviting & peaceful.

This property was absolutely gorgeous. Stunning area, just a short drive from Durham City Centre. Lots of beautiful walks nearby. Facilities were brilliant. I especially appreciate the fresh milk for tea/coffee and cold water on arrival. Host was absolutely brilliant. Always on hand if we needed anything.
