House of Lion Hostel

I reserved just for 1 day, after having a good chill time here.. I extended for 4 day. Recommended for wild soul who are look for peaceful time. The owner, staffs and volunteer very helpful and friendly. No complain at all. I would recommend this place.

Spacious private room with a private bathroom. They also had free refill for water and hot water for coffee and tea. The staff was also lovely. They also helped us with an early checkout.

The location good and the staff was friendly

The main and huge problem was the smell in the room and the hallway and also the cleanliness of the room. The owner keeps cats at the hostel which are the source of the smell. Not only that, but they were also very loud and screaming in front of the doors quite often. After addressing this to one of the staff she said she couldnt do anything about the smell as it were the cats. When we entered our room we found a moldy cookie with a stream of ants to it. After removing the cookie ourself, the stream of ants were gone, but there were still ants in the room. Bedsheets and pillows did not look and feel clean or washed and the blanket provided was minimal and not the standard duvet with filling. The last day we found mouse poop in the bathroom which indicates that there are also mice running around. All this made us feel not comfortable. Don't recommend coming here as there are enough great hostels next to it.

There was no toilet roll in the toilet. The room itself I felt want that clean

Great quiet location but close enough to the beach, shops and restaurants. Friendly staff. Comfortable room with a fridge and en suite. Water station. Communal seating area to socialise as you would expect from a hostel. All in all, good.
