House of Lion Hostel

Great little hostel. Stay here for 4 nights and have to say it was pretty good. Staff are awesome. Very friendly and chatty. Location is perfect just a few minutes walk to the beach. The room was clean and comfortable.

There wasn’t much of a traveller atmosphere because it was quite small.

Was a great day staying here. They are very friendly & helpful especially brother Hatiq (receptionist) & the owner of the Lion Hostel... Highly recommend

Generally rooms are tidy and quite new, staff is friendly

I didn’t like the fact, that during checkin you are informed that you have to pay 50myr deposit. I came to Langkawi just for a day, with 65myr and had to survive a day with remaining 15myr. Also toilets seem old and dirty, common area with kitchen too. In the rooms there are bunker beds with 3 levels, what luckily wasn’t an issue for me, as there were no other people in my room, however sleeping in a bunker bed with 2 other people could be challenging

Staff were helpful enough to wait for me to check in later because my flight had been delayed. Location is ok within walking distance to the beach and lots of places to eat.

This place is very run down and needs a complete overhaul. It’s is very dirty and smelled very badly of cat faeces in the common room where the private rooms are. The towels had stains and sheets did not seem very clean.

They cancelled my booking and didn’t refund me
