Royal Retreat ,Kandy

I was greeted by Bharatha the owner and team with open arms when I arrived. I upgraded my room for a better view. The place is new, clean and well taken care of. My room was very spacious! Bharatha ensures that I'm comfortable always. I was not well on one of the days and he went the extra miles by offering me a paracetamol and a herbal tea.  He and his team would gave suggestions and recommendations of places to visit.  I'm overall a happy and satisfied ustomer! I loved the views, and the architecture of the property. It was a mix of vintage and modern, with spacious rooms. The view outside each floor is amazing, plus my room had a balcony too. The Sri Lankan breakfast cooked by the chef at this property was hands down delicious!

The staff working there didn’t speak much English which is hard for a foreigner, for communication and getting a message through. There isnt any permanent receptionist at the property- as in, during night hours and early hours of the day, there is no one at the front desk. This makes it inconvenient when you need something at an odd hour or so. Otherwise, everything was good.

The food is delicious. It's also a great place to relax with a beautiful view.

Perfectly located for the night before or after a flight. The staff couldn’t have done more for us - we arrived late and they organised some dinner to arrive and booked us an early taxi for our flight the next morning. Private room was clean and cool.

The bathrooms need some updating, they are functional but unpleasant to be in.

We stayed for one night and had a great experience. The room was clean, comfortable, and spacious. The staff were friendly and helpful—especially the reception and the manager. I highly recommend this hotel!
