Central Hills Cat Ba

A perfect and peaceful place to unwind for a few days. We loved our afternoons in the pool and exploring Cat Ba. The location is a bit isolated from town so I would recommend bringing or hiring a scooter to get around in. Otherwise there are a few really nice places to eat in the area (including the Homestay!). Gecko the owner and his family are really sweet and lovely. Thanks for everything!

Such a great Homestay! It is quiet, the rooms are comfortable and the owners are very nice and helpful. Food is great and plenty at the restaurant. It is a really nice experience to live in this small village in the middle of the island, close to the national park and not too far from town. They rent scooters which is a great way to discover the island, since the roads are in very good conditions. Very nice pool. Recommended 100%

Great family run accommodation close to the national park. Very peaceful. Excellent restaurant on-site. This place is a serene alternative to overbuilt Cat Ba City, and yet just a short ride from the wharf.

This is really a great place to relax, I like this place because it is very close to nature. You will relax with the swimming pool and have all the services of food, car rental, Lan Ha Bay tour, bus… with unbelievably cheap price. The host Gecko and his family are very friendly, enthusiastic, especially the lovely little dogs. We will definitely recommend this place to you when coming to Cat Ba.

We loved our stay here the family is so kind and caring the property is beautiful, food is amazing with good portion sizes and everything is reasonably priced they can arrange boat tours and walking tours through the national park, village visits and much more. They also rent motor scooters for a good price. The rooms are large and very clean and secure with a big bathroom, they have 3 lovely dogs and a cat that love scratches and cuddles. A large pool outside the room and amazing Mountain View’s. It’s located just 10min drive from the large town however we stuck mostly to the mountain areas with the views and local people. We look forward to coming back and visiting again in a couple of years it was our favourite stay in Vietnam by far :)

Everything was perfect

The service was very good ! They were very friendly , the pool table was cool ! The food was good , friendly dogs

The pool wasn't exciting it looked dirty I wouldn't have swimed in it , no pressure at all in the shower

This is the best location to visit Cat Ba island. Close to the Hospital Cave and the national park, far from the loud hotels and construction areas but close enough to the main city by motorbike (which you can rent from the host). The hospitality of owners is invaluable. You can eat great breakfast and dinner/supper there, have some cold beer and play pool bilard. Each house has air conditioning and clean bathroom. The owners did their best to overcome the Typhoon Yagi and the place is the best way to get to know the local culture away from the tourist spots. We really recommend staying there 😉.
