Bright and Modern Studios at Briggate Studios in Leeds

The accommodation wasn't as good as expected but this has been overshadowed by the inability of the accommodation provider to send an invoice for the stay. Still no joy after over a week but lots of apologies!

The property was clean, central and was great for a professional stay. We had a small kitchen, shower, bed and desk so was ideal for attending a conference and still being able to catch up on work.

The key collection was at an alternative location only 2 mins away and was 24 hours which was useful but it would've been easier to collect them at the property.

I was not send check in details prior to check in, therefore I was left standing outside the building for 30 minutes at 8:30pm on my own. The party noise from across the road was unbearable from 9-2AM. I even messaged to move rooms as I work in healthcare and am not a student, alas I was ignored. Renting the room to anyone for a short period, should come with basic utensils like kitchen hand towel, oven mite, shower mat, bin bags etc. I left a day early and messaged to tell them, I got reply within 20 minutes (ironic, no reply to my request to move) and told I would have to pay £50 for not returning the key. I replied I was not given the check out details so therefore managed to avoid paying that fee.

the bar across the road was playing music until about 3 in the morning on monday and thursday other than that it was a good night sleep througout

Close to railway station in centre of the city. Fob access simple and easy. Clean and tidy.

Plain and simple as a prison cell. Overlooked by hotel but no net curtains for privacy only blinds. Rubbish bin a basket with no liner. Cutlery and crockery for two only plus two pots and frypan, no can opener or tongs. Kettle and coffee press but no toaster or microwave and bring your own tissues and tea towels. No TV or radio. One student desk. To aid sleep, bring ear plugs (noisy fridge) and sleep mask to block an LED that flashes every two seconds and hope there’s no fire alarm as there’s no urgency to turn it off. I went back to my bed after 30 minutes despite the alarm. Check you are allowed to use common areas, gym, cafe etc. I was told I couldn’t but reception said guests could use them. Bathroom door doesn’t close and ceiling still has builder instructions on ceiling. Check plastic sticker has been removed from range hood.

The staff

The studio was spacious and clean, had basic equipment stocked in the kitchen and bathroom with large fluffy towels.

The room was hot and no fan was provided and opening the window wasn't an option due to the noise from the bars across the street. When they say there is potential noise from the street what they really need to say is you will not likely get any sleep due to the fact that there are nightclubs operating until 3 am and people screaming and shouting till well past that. Their unfortunate response/solution to this is tell me to buy ear plugs, so if you do book here make sure you ask for a unit not facing onto the street. Another point that was off to us is that they ask you to take the rubbish out with you but leave you no bin bags to do so and to wash us the dishes that you use but provide no soap or cleaning sponges but they do have a cleaner that comes to sort the room after you leave. The communal areas are closed for safety reasons so don't expect to use the advertised gaming areas etc...
