La Roka, Cliffside Memories

The view was tremendous. Room size was good. Service was excellent.

There were a lot of steps.

The view from the patio/balcony was superb - and even though that was a shared space, we found our neighbours to be friendly. The staff were also super helpful - organising a transfer from the airport, responding quickly to our requests, and making sure our luggage was carried up and down all of the steps. Within the room, the main bed was quite comfortable (smaller single bed wasn't too bad either).

Suspect it might just be the way of things everywhere in Santorini, but we found the water pipes to be a bit noisy (with the shower and toilet). Also, while we were fine with the breakfast being nearby at the Buddha Bar rather than on-site, the volume of the music at the Buddha Bar was far too loud.

More toilet paper in the bathroom will be appreciated.A little sink in the kitchen will be very helpful because only one very little in the bathroom .we have to climb 80 stairs to breakfast and the stairs are not well maintained, bigs holes in the stairs and very dangerous.Air conditioning is far from the bedroom, so it’s hot in the night when you sleep.

The location is great! It was the most breathtaking view I have ever seen. Adorable stuff who supported us with all requests.

The breakfast was included in the price and it was a disaster. The staff was unfriendly, they had nothing to offer and ran out of food (what?!). Despite great views and stunnung buildings, we were very upset and stayed hungry

- Staff were very friendly and helpful as they helped us with our luggage and stuff. - Can see the sunset straight out the room, chairs and table so you can sit and relax and watch the sunset and night view without having to go far. - Had a kettle and tea making necessities and we were given free bottled water everyday and more if we asked. - Was a really quiet area and peaceful. - Many others mentioned about the steps we have to take to get to the hotel rooms but I guess that’s everywhere in Santorini so I can’t blame for the hotels for that especially when you need a good view as we had a sea view I think it was reasonable and also in my opinion it wasn’t that bad, only 2-3 mins to go down the steep. - Only 5 mins drive to Fira and 20 mins to Oia, there’s buses going every 1 hour so staying here meant less expensive and you can still explore other areas. - Only thing missing was a hot tub, as when we first booked the hotel we didn’t want one but as soon as we got there I said to my husband our stay would be complete if we had a hot tub or a private swimming pool and we were even ready to upgrade but sadly they didn’t have rooms like that.

- I don’t know if it was the mattress but me and my husband both had back pains and especially me I never suffered with back pain before so it wasn’t too comfortable for me. - Our outside area was shared with the other guests so it wasn’t really private. And also as there’s path to walk down just outside our room, we had so many people going that side.

The location is fantastic - in the heart of Imerovigli, on the path to Skaros Rock & Fira to Oia footpath, yet very secluded & private, with jaw dropping views. The breakfast at nearby Buddha Bar works very well & is a fantastic bonus to the experience. We really enjoyed eating there & we were not disappointed by the service or quality of breakfast. Our room was exceptionally clean, & made up daily to a very high standard. The beds are extremely comfy & I loved the luxurious Korres complimentary toiletries. Free mineral water every day and the welcome bottle of Ouzo was also a very considerate touch. All staff at La Roka were lovely & we appreciated our bags being carried from our taxi to the room.

There was nothing we didn’t like but I do have minor recommendations for additional comfort: More hooks in the bathroom are needed to hang bath towels as one is not enough & another luggage cradle rack & clothes hooks in the bedroom would be welcome. Also - there was no shade in the communal terrace & a canopy would be great to enjoy the outside space during the day. Otherwise everything was perfect.

Clean, views, location. Best breakfast. Good shower.

Airconditioner was weak and leaked. Parking.

Great view. Recommended!
