G6 on Marlborough Durban South Beachfront Self-Catering Unit Plus Private Bedroom

It is very close to the beach, you can walk there.

We left for a few minutes after check-in, when we came back the apartment was flooded because there was a leak somewhere. We had to clean all that water by ourselves. It is just poorly maintained

The only good thing about this unit is proximity to the beach, which is literally a 2 minute walk away. You can also take a walk to uShaka Marine on the boardwalk from here, which is patrolled by police and is safe.

The entire apartment looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a few months when we arrived. There was a layer of dust on everything and every room had spider webs. The stove and cutlery were filthy and the cloths provided to wash dishes with, also looked dirty. There was no frying pan, not enough cups and the kitchen itself was in a dire state of disarray. The bathroom wall and ceilings are growing mould and it was evident that the floor of the shower has probably never been cleaned. The worst part was the lack of air conditioning! This unit does not have windows that allow airflow and with no Aircon, it gets incredibly hot in there! If you choose to stay here at the height of the Durban summer, you will cook like a pig at a hog-roast. The two rooms do have fans, but they are covered in dust and you just know you are blowing filth around the room when you turn them on. I could tell that the sheets also hadn't been changed since the last occupant as the duvets and pillow covers had a smell to them. The front door is completely see-through at night when the lights in the unit are on, and everyone walking past can see inside! When my husband went just outside to buy us some bottled water, he was offered drugs "of any sort he'd like" by one of the residents. All the pictures of this unit on this listing were clearly taken years ago when it was first listed. It doesn't look much like this anymore.
