Country Cottage in Papa Bay

The property itself is excellent. All the facilities are well thought out and everything I needed was provided and located in a logical place. The use of space was fantastic to make a very small space feel open and inviting. The location is superb, with a perfect sunset view from the sun lounge, and stunning stargazing being the reason I chose this property for my stay. I must also say I enjoyed the most relaxing morning I've ever had, with a Hawaiian coffee and the company of some charming geckos. The local bird life was also on form, with many exotic songbirds in the trees immediately surrounding the cottage.

I had no issue taking my shoes off before entering the property but a place to put my shoes inside, a box or shoe rack, was the only thing I expected to find but couldn't

Dangerous stairs.

Peaceful , nature ,clan, organic or eco way of living. The landlord hosting people nicest on the earth, helpful ,joyful, happy people. they brought us eggs for the breakfast from dear chickens, even we did try miracle berries with lemon OM G best thing ever ..we had the cocee frogs in the evening, singing ,birds in the morning. definitely place to come back.

There is nothing to complain

A lovely tiny house in a gorgeous location. The sounds of the frogs at night were magical. The birds in the morning too. We had great interactions with the owners and they were very helpful and kind. We had a blast, wished we made this our “base camp” for the week!

This place saved us from the ordeal of the last minute cancellation of the Airbnb condo by the owner. I was VERY stressed as I couldn’t find a new place to stay during the school vacation week. Papa bay cottage is small, but clean and dry. It provides the essentials. The porch was a plus. We enjoyed our breakfasts on it, watching colorful geckos running around, and listening to the birds. At night you can hear the coquí frogs but it was so unusual for us that we didn’t mind and slept like babies. From the cottage there’s a short drive to the grocery store and food places nearby. And of course, the National Volcano Park was so close! The owner was very courteous and friendly. He saw to our needs on arrival.

The stairs to the loft upstairs is very steep. It was hard for me to climb it with my stiff right knee.

Aurther the Host was awesome. The place was very peaceful with a view of the ocean. Loved having the barbeque grill. Awesome outside table with umbrella. Parking right in front. Geckos were very friendly. Plenty of fresh drinking water. Two fans keeped the place very cool. Really enjoyed the stay.

Hot water was spotty but Aurther the property owner is fixing it.

It’s so important to have proper communication when travelling and I had that with Arthur (the owner). He was quick to respond and there to help anyway he could. He was kind enough to talk about the area and take me on a tour, which I enjoyed immensely. The tiny home has everything you need and is very comfortable. There’s clean drinking water, an equipped kitchen, an outdoor barbecue and other essentials (like a mini portable washer, beach towels and over the shoulder mini cooler) … the home’s very clean and comfortable and even the resident geckos are super friendly! I found they put a lot of thought into little details inside the cottage. The night sky is unbelievably beautiful and you also have an ocean view in a quiet and safe neighbourhood…I’m looking forward to coming back!

The property was clean and beautiful. No noise whatsoever. The owners were friendly and awesome people. They were very accommodating and helpful.

There wasn't anything I didn't like. The property was peaceful and tranquil. The sunsets and sunrises were gorgeous. The personal touches were so sweet and endearing.
