The property has the most amazing view and the accommodation has everything you need. We were greeted by Senaka, who is a wonderful host. He kindly arranged a tuk tuk to take us to the bridge and to and from Ella. He also suggested other places to visit! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend. Thank you Senaka, it was lovely to meet you and we enjoyed our chat!

our three nights in ella were really great. senaka was incredibly supportive. all our questions were answered warmly and always with a genuine smile. he was the most attentive of our seven hosts in sri lanka. we learned a lot about the island and its inhabitants at the cooking course, which we should definitely attend. senaka was open and interested. we had a wonderful evening. many thanks to senaka! you are something special!

We’ve loved that place. Definitely, we recomand it. It’s a A frame, with 2 separate rooms(own bathroom), with separate entrance. It’ s so cozy, with a beautiful view, you can really enjoy the silence of the jungle. We felt sorry that we stayed only for 1 night. The breakfast was also great. Thank you for all!

Great environment, beautiful, really friendly

The accommodation is very nice and the upper room has a beautiful view of the surrounded area. The room itself is very clean and there are all things you need. Unfortunately it has no AC but the climate in Ella is not too hot, so in the evenings it’s getting cooler. Senaka, it is the manager of the accommodation was extremely helpful and always available. He also picked up from Nuna Oya, which was the final train station from your train journey from Ella to Nuna Oya. On top of that we also invited us to a special local restaurant for a small lunch.

To begin, the breakfast at Nine Arch was so filling and delicious! We had the option of hoppers, sandwiches, eggs, pancakes, fruit, toast, fresh juice, and coffee or tea. The room was spacious and had everything that you could need. The view from the room is breathtaking. You get to see Ella's beautiful, lush hills and many stars at night. Just be warned, if you have quite a bit of luggage, the stairs getting up to the rooms will be a little bit hard for you! We also had a fantastic Sri Lankan cooking class by Sena (Senaka) who was our host and main point of contact throughout our stay. He was so patient, kind, and learned and truly made our cooking experience exceptional. We got to make 7 different types of vegetable curry and papadum. I highly encourage anyone who stays here to take the cooking class because you learn so much from Sena! Getting to eat the food you made is also a great incentive!! Sena also gave us a tour of the spice garden on the property where over 100 varieties of spices grow! I've included a picture of fresh turmeric that Sena showed us in the garden. During our stay, we took the train from Ella to Nuwara Eliya (also highly recommend doing it as it's so picturesque). Sena didn't have to do this, but he drove to Nuwara Eliya to pick us up from the train station, gave us a tour of Nuwara Eliya, took us to one of his and his family's favourite local restaurants, and then brought us back to Ella. My friend and I are blown away by his kindness. Another example is that my friend and I booked a walking tour up Ella Rock for sunrise. We came downstairs and saw that Sena was awake, and made sure were safely in our tuktuk. Lastly, I'm beyond grateful for his continued assistance outside our stay. Senaka helped us find a driver for an excursion in another city :) All in all, I recommend staying at Nine Arch Spice Garden for the view, experience, and the best host ever.

Amazing place to stay. One of our favourite ever. Our host was amazing, nothing was too much hassle and he did everything to make the stay perfect. Throughly recommend.

Nothing at all

New hotel with really good installations and very clean. Crazy views from the room and nice and tasty homemade breackfast. The staff was really welcoming and helpful during our stay, I would definitely recommend this hotel.
