noisy neighbours

The house was clean and well located. The house has been finished really nicely and has everything you need for a short break.

The property is beautifully appointed. Lovely furnishings. The host left milk and cookies (biscuits) for us in the kitchen and provided all the information we needed to have a successful stay. We were able to walk to the grocery store…there were several options close by.

I had read that the front room might be noisy (it’s on a street that people use to go to work) and that the beds were hard (they are, but not uncomfortably so). We were not bothered by any of those issues. The lack of a place to sit down and eat besides the outside table was surprising, but we had delightful weather so it all worked out for us. The dishwasher wasn’t working, but we were able to quickly clean the dishes, so that wasn’t an issue either, really. All in all it was a very nice stay.

Lovely house, well decorated throughout and comfy.

The decor is beautiful. The original stone walls and attention to detail is superb. It was also lovely having two sitting rooms. The place was spotless and felt like no one had been there before us. It looked like a house straight out of an interior design magazine. It was also great to check-in early and have a pint of milk in the fridge waiting for us. It’s the perfect location to explore Chorley and is a short walk from the bus and train station. Plenty of places for food too and everyone we met were so friendly.

At times it was noisy. We didn’t expect it to be on such a busy road (my fault for not doing my research). The traffic started quite early in the morning and the main bedroom is at the front of the property. It is a terraced property so expected noises from the next door neighbours too. Because we were lucky enough to have gorgeous weather, I would also have liked curtains in the main bedroom as well as the wooden blinds.
