White rose safari home stay

I found the place by chance while looking for a room on the main road, and I'm so glad I did. There's only a very small sign on the road. It's all very modern, clean, with attached bathrooms. The family and neighbors are very kind, treat their guests with love, and prepare various dishes on request. They can also help you organize tours in Udawalawe or take a bus to Arugam Bay.

Location and price!

Total scam, don't trust the reviews, they are not real. This place has several names on booking.com (the other one is a White House safari stay). All of them have great reviews 9-10, which are most likely generated by AI. The rooms are dirty, the breakfast is horrible, not like in the pictures, no people around. They offered tours at different prices, and overcharged me, but had to refund the difference since the couple who stayed there too paid way less. Their "professional" guide with "years of experience" can't even properly speak English and doesn't give you any information about the park or anything whatsoever. Very unpleasant and shocking how unreal their reviews. Never have I ever experienced this. Also, the owner gave my number to 2 employees, who started texting me on WhatsApp, which is extremely unacceptable. Stay away from this place.

There appears to have been a change in ownership/management, we based selection on the series of 10s given, our experience was very different, however the booked safari was very good.

This is not a homestay. Breakfast was nothing like as depicted. There is no front desk, no BBQ. Both rooms had evidence of black mold near windows and smelled very bad - we kept the door open as much as possible. One room's air conditioning didn't work properly, one room's bathroom had a broken door knob locking you in. Hot water switch was too high up to reach, so only cold showers. Laundry was returned wet but without being cleaned. Evening meals were taken 1 km away at a local restaurant associated with the accommodation, food there was fine. Transport to next destination was organized and paid for at accommodation, driver later reported not being paid. Despite its very low price, it is not a facility to return to.

The staff were exceptionally polite and attentive, always ready to assist with a smile. The location is excellent, the rooms are clean, well maintained and equipped with modern amenities that provide a comfortable stay. Conveniently located near major attractions. It was a great place to relax. Their safari in particular was great. The price was reasonable. The driver was good. Blessings to all.

Beautiful en-suite bedroom with bathroom, two double beds, dressing table. Drinking water is readily available and the owner will make you freshly brewed (proper) coffee or tea whenever you want. Wonderful breakfast with freshly cut local fruit, yoghurt, perfect omelette, pancakes if desired. Safari was very good. Lots of elephants in udawalwe.

Exceptional price for the best value! Outstanding place to stay! As soon as we will be back, we will come again! Everything is so clean, new equipment, made with love and passion! The host was so helpful and great! The home cooked food was one of the best and served so beautifully. We loved our room, the garden for yoga, the rooftop for relaxing, the location close to the baby elephant orphans station, Honestly I can just warmly recommend you to stay there, you will have all you need and even more for an amazing Udawalawe experience and you can book Safari and straight with the owner, they can organise everything for you. thank you soo much rayan.

It's located in the very center of Udawalawe, so you can walk out the door and go to shops or restaurants. On the other hand, if you want some quiet time, this is also the perfect place: tucked away at the end of a lane facing the rainforest, you feel like you're far away from it all, and the owner took great care of us, including organizing safaris, preparing wonderful food, and always engaging in fun and interesting chats. I would definitely recommend this!

Large comfortable bed and clean room, though bathroom seemed unfinished

My room wasn’t ready when I arrived and it was after check in time. Outdoor bins were full and attracting flies though were emptied when I asked Kitchen/ dining area not very clean
