The Tempus at Charlton Hall Estate

I was able to upgrade when we arrived as the original room was smaller than I imagined. Thats not the fault of the hotel and they were more than helpful in arranging the upgrade. We want to come back to stay at the waterside lodges.

Beautiful countryside, the yurts were kitted out perfectly, and very comfortable. The fire was a lovely touch, and actually necessary even though it was June. Food in the restaurant was fabulous.

The toilets/showers were fine - but they were essentially a portacabin. It would have been nice to have nicer showers. Beautiful countryside- marred only by the sound of the nearby A1 - but maybe that’s just me and traffic noise.

Amazing location in between Bamburgh and Alnwick and many more touristic attractions. Love the lake cabins, the view, space and amenities with jacuzzi bath in the terrace. the fact that it is in the countryside. Fab cocktails, lovely staff.

Food is quite expensive. One morning the staff spoke super loud in front of our cabin. Cabin were too hot, no air con but we were there during the heatwave.

Evening meal and breakfast were well presented and tasted lovely.

Food & drinks were a little overpriced & even though our food was lovely, they informed us some of the fridges had gone off with the hot weather, I had a dessert with cream which tasted ok but was warm, the next day I suffered terribly with an upset stomach, maybe should have took all the desserts with cream off the menu
