The Hidden Gem in Galloway Forrest

The shower worked ok, the views were lovely and it was mostly quiet.

It was a well used caravan, with lots of signs of age/ use. The bed was exceptionally soft which doesn't suit us. WiFi was useless, glad we were only there for 2 nights.

Good location with lots to do, nice size caravan.

The bedrooms were a bit cold but heaters were provided.

Forest midges attacks. Never infomed before. Wasn't sleep two days. Itching and swelling. No any hangers in shower room. Shower area not provided any shower gel etc also no place to put any shower items we bought. Too dark in hall one bulb was fuse and not change. Photos included.

caravan was a bit worn out had everything we needed but dated and a bit done. It was what it was and the site made up for it.

The location of the caravan is great, with a lovely view of the loch and the rest of the park. It's a short 5 min walk to the pub and soft play and about a 2 min walk to the swimming pool and play park.

Unfortunately, the caravan was in an unacceptable state upon our arrival. It had clearly not been cleaned since the previous guests' departure. There were dirty dishes in the sink, used bed sheets, crumbs and dirt on the floor, a filthy bathroom, and rubbish left behind. This was a major inconvenience, especially after a 2.5-hour drive with a toddler and a baby. We then had to wait over two and a half hours for cleaners to arrive and prepare the accommodation, delaying our ability to settle the children for the night. We did not gain access to the caravan until after 8 pm. To the host’s credit, she responded promptly and professionally once contacted. She was apologetic and clearly embarrassed by the situation, assuring us it was not typical. Cleaners were sent out immediately, and she offered a partial refund as a gesture of goodwill. The caravan itself is very basic and in need of maintenance. The safety cover on the boiler is broken, exposing a naked flame in the cupboard. The oven and cooker igniters are broken, requiring manual lighting with a lighting which is unsafe. The kitchen tap is loose and rotates when adjusting the temperature. The toaster is broken and the lever must be held down the whole time until the toaster cycle is complete. In the lounge, the back wall sofa is damaged and sunken, making it uncomfortable to sit on. The bathroom blinds are covered in moisture and dirt and require replacement. On a positive note, the holiday park is excellent. The facilities cater well to both children and adults. We especially enjoyed the water sports, which were run by a fantastic and friendly couple.

Good shower. Adequate kitchen. Extra Radiators.

Tired, draughty, wobbly chairs, badly fitted belly box cover at main window seats causing cushions to sag. Cheap matresses. Dud bulb in bedroom main light and half a really cheap toilet roll for 6 people, a dribble of liquid soap in bathroom.

Had a lovely stay here with family. Park was in a lovely location . Liked the soft play area and park for the kids . Caravan was comfy and had everything we needed . Would definitely stay here again . Thanks 😊
