"Cozy warm stay even in the winters frost."

10.0

This is the second time we have stayed and even though it was very cold outside (being winter) it was warm and cozy inside. Extra blankets and a small electric oil fire were provided if needed but we didn’t need them as the heating was on. Shower was also good! Firefighters, matches and wood were also provided for the firepit, which was lovely even in the winters evening. We are already planning to stay again.

The road/track is bumpy but no more so than some car parks or road bumps. Just take it slowly is our advice.

"Absolutely amazing and will definitely be coming again"

The cosy vibe from the little carriage

The road going to the property is a dirt track and bottom out my car a few times 🤣

"Lovely hut but too cold and fire pit issues!"

8.0

So cozy and cute, very clean, good internal facilities and the bed was very comfortable.

The fire pit wasn't cleared from the last stay, full of water and old half burnt logs. I wasn't sure if it had been reset for us because of this. 4 tiny bits of kindling and not much wood (was supposed to be enough for 1-2 fires). I tried to ring the owner, no answer, so left a message to ask if we could take another couple of bits of wood from the storage but they didn't ring or message back, so we took 2 anyway. I had to scoop out the dirty water with my hands before we could use it. The major issue for us was how cold it was in the hut, the guide says not to amend the thermostat as the temperature was right. We were so cold, we sat eating dinner with our coats and hats on, every time we went to the toilet, we hugged the heated towel rail! We ended up going to bed early just to get warm :( Summer would probably be a better time to go but I wouldn't recommend it in the winter at all!

"A lovely hut for a peaceful stay away."

8.0

The hut was very comfortable and had everything you'd need. The bed was lovely, the kitchen had all necessary bits for making breakfast. Milk and tea bags were provided. The ensuite was really nice. I didn't meet the hosts but they messaged me to tell me where the key had been left so I could let myself in. The hut is sat in the grounds of the owners' house, surrounded by a garden and gorgeous trees.

It wasn't very warm. The welcome book asked not to touch the thermostat as it regulated the temp as required but it wasn't warm at all. When I showered in the morning, the hot water ran out half way through. As the location is set far back along a very bumpy road the phone reception is poor - this may be perfect for someone wanting to get away from it all.

"Fabulous stay. Will come back for sure. Especially when warmer weather arrives!"

9.0

The quietness and remoteness. Very cosy inside. Impressive kitchen facilities for a shepherds hut. Comfy bed and warm.

Frustrated that we couldn’t get the fire to catch in the pit, but it was rather windy! Perhaps more kindling and more firefighters? But should have thought to bring more ourselves. Be careful of the pot holes in the drive up to the hut.

"Lovely, cosy stay. Enjoyable experience, shame about the severe weather conditions"

8.0

Very cosy little hut. Great location for Norwich. It was lovely of the owners to contact us to check all ok, given the severe weather. Had all the facilities we needed.

The track leading up to the hut was very challenging due to significant pot holes. We experienced cold showers during our stay

"Great little hideaway"

10.0

It is a great base to visit the city and surrounding areas. The hut is beautifully decorated - everything we needed was available. The bathroom is fantastic and one of the best we have seen in a Shepherd's hut. The bed was lovely and comfy. The first night we stayed, it was quite cold inside the hut at night but much much warmer on the second night. A few games and books are available as well as a radio. We didn't get to use the fire pit, unfortunately, due to storm Bert. Lots of wildlife around to see - we saw deer on the road to the hut :) the road to the hut is very very bumpy!

A few extra solar lights around the path and door would be great- we arrived in the dark and had to use our torches to see where the sleepers and slabs were.
