The Flat in central Kirkby Stephen

A very nice apartment situated in the middle of town - very handy for meals and breakfasts, although the Kitchen in the apartment was also very good and well-equipped. The bathroom had a bath and a separate shower - excellent. All of the rooms were HUGE!

Great central location, with lots of eating options within 5 minutes' walk. Spacious rooms. Clean. Instructions for getting into the property were clear. Helpful advice from the host to the questions we had beforehand.

Some of the decor is ageing. We couldn't work out how to regulate the heat. There were no instructions we could find, so it was a case of trial and error. I missed having personal contact with anybody while we were there, even if only brief. It made it feel rather impersonal.

Flat is very tired there is a broken draw in the kitchen and lots of stairs so not really suitable for those of us that are aging and not very fit

We have never stayed here before, we normally stay in many of the local pubs around the area. But we decided to check this place out instead. And I am so glad we did. It is quirky and comfortable. slap bang in the middle of the town right next to the Black Bull pub. It's quiet and the bed was super comfy and the fell view from the back bedroom is terrific and an added bonus. If you like people watching this is the place with not 1 but 2 front room window seats. There is all sorts to do in Kirkby Stephen and because of it's location you have direct access to it. Parking for multiple cars is also Free on the road behind the building. Loved it... Yes its dated but the building is one of the original 1600 town buildings. That does not mean it is dated inside because it isn't. It has everything you could need. Including a microwave :P but try eating out eh!! The Mango Tree restaurant is fantastic....

There is not much to not like if you love Kirkby Stephen. I have read some of the negative comments. But don't read the reviews...go try it for yourself. Take friends or family there is loads of places to eat and drink.

Everything was excellent as usual. This is the 3rd year we have used this flat and hoping to go back next year again. Fabulous all round. Great facilities and location.

There isn't anything we didnt like.
