Lake Natron Maasai giraffe eco Lodge and camping

We booked a tent, so we did not expect anything beyond that. Yet the facilities, especially the shared shower, were at an absolute minimum of acceptability. Besides that, the food was nice, and the staff was comforting. The pool was… well, there is a pool, and at this location, that is itself an achievement.

What we really did not like was a 15 USD hikers breakfast per person which was neither sufficient nor worth the money in any kind.

Qiuet beautiful place, very spacious

Next to the park fees and all other fees which we were aware of there were still many 'hidden' costs that became apparent (e.g. 10 minute car ride for 40 dollar and sticks which we 'had to take' even though we did not want them for hiking the vulcano for 5 dollar EACH stick). This did not give a guest friendly atmosphere. So in the end it left a sour taste because I would say for staying in a tent it is overpriced. Nevertheless we did enjoy the stay because after all it is a nice place (just too pricey).

Absolutely incredible staff - they really made the whole experience amazing. Very warm, fun, played games with us and wonderful energy. Food was simple but always tasty, and the grounds and surrounding area are great!

The room ceiling fan did not do much to alleviate the heat, movable fans for each bed might be better. The price is quite high overall with all the entry fees, car fees, and per person rates.

We had the most wonderful time at our stay in the Maasai Giraffe eco lodge. Unfortunately prior to the stay some issues with our rental car occured and we were lucky to be spending the upcoming night at this place. Marco was our angle who guided us through the process of managing our further steps in order to keep continuing our trip. We were given a free upgrade from tents to bungalows and were treated with incredible kindness and were welcomed as friends. Thank you guys so much for your time, help, patience and efforts. We met as strangers and left as friends. Additionally - delicious, fresh food, nice adventures, friendly staff, clean pool to recover from a long trip. They are having a fire place, where you can spend some time, the drinks are nice and you'll be living in between the lake and the great ol doinyo lengai. Perfect place to stay and would totally recommend it.

It was exceptional!!

Our favourite place to stay during our entire trip.in Tanzania. The lodge and the cottages are beautifully designed and well maintained. The scenery around is stunning, the lake and all the crators. You can go to the lake shore, the waterfalls, or hike Oldoinyo Lengai crator. All with a guide and paid for. Food delcious, with meat and veg options. Laundry service available.

Make sure you get a full cost breakdown for everything you need to pay. There are various fees and taxes not included in the price of the room on booking.com. Hking the crator costs 123.6 usd for 1 person incl hiking fee, plus 100 usd for transport car.

This place is beautiful, don't be put off by the drive that's an adventure in itself. seen lots of wildlife on the way in and whilst we were there we were walked out to giraffes by one of the masai. The food is great and they have a lovely pool which has been newly renovated. We stayed in a tent which was great and is cool as it's In the shade all day and is very spacious. Our friends had a room which was also lovely. We were brought on the waterfall tour which is a must do , beautiful hike bringing you up through a river. Also did Lake natron which was full of flamingos. Highly recommend this place and it is a great help to their community as a lot of the money goes back in directly to them.

The place is incredible—a green oasis nestled within a breathtaking valley, just a short walk from the lake. The team managing the property and hosting guests were very friendly and accommodating, ensuring every need was met with care. The food experience was equally great, with Margaret and Eva preparing delicious meals. A highlight of my visit was exploring the surrounding natural beauty and landscape under the guidance of Kaibu, offering me also valuable insights into the Maasai culture.

The Camp was very special. Everyone there was so welcoming and friendly, could not fault the staff. The food was great. It was like being on a small holding with Cows, dogs ,turkeys, cats !! It was wonderful. The location for the activities was good 👍 We got an upgrade to a room which was great
