Lake Natron Maasai giraffe eco Lodge and camping

Location. Staff were amazing. Wonderful experience. Walk to lake and waterfall was amazing. Dancing and singing by Maasai staff was a highlight.

Water situation . Additional costs that were not clear at booking.

Staying at Maasai giraffe eco lodge was a pleasure! The staff were very friendly responsive and helpful, which made our stay at Lake Natron smooth as it can get. We have received a lot of useful information, the accommodation was clean, comfortable and peaceful. Great swimming pool and tents too! And super tasty local food! Would come again and recommend!

A tranquil oasis of green and serenity just a few minutes from Lake Natron and Rift valleys excursions. It is also a great place to learn more about the Masai culture through local guides and artifacts created on premise by Masai women. Breakfast was hearty and made with local produce ; buffet dinner very pleasant and informal Room was spacious and tasteful, with a warm African feel

The property was pleasant, with not much tourists. The food was very tasty and the staff was friendly. The room was big.

There was no wifi at the rooms, only in common areas, but it not always worked properly. However the main problem was with one activity that we hired - we wanted to climb the volcano but it started raining. We only did 50% of the track and the guide told us to come back. While it is understandable there were no security conditions, they shouldn’t have charged 100% of the price. There wasn’t any discount for the fact we only were there in the volcano part of the original time.

The lodge was very close to the volcano Ol Doinyo Longai and Lake Natron. Iseya, & our Maasai guide kept us busy, but visiting his village was a particularly unique experience. The lodge let us refill water bottles in keeping with eco-practices, and the restaurant coffee was probably the best we’ve had in 6 weeks of traveling.

The whole property has one functional receptacle located in the restaurant, and that’s also the only place to get internet; but it is a pretty remote location reclaimed from a large desert of black volcanic sand.

The accommodation is beautiful and well-kept. They were flexible in changing one of booked tents into a room.

There were no charging ports in the rooms, however this was really a minor flaw. Otherwise, not much to say.
