Crossways Cottage Quirky 2 bedroom cottage in Damdale, Central Peebles

This is the second time we've stayed at Kims place. This place is a wee gem. It's cosy, warm and has everything you may need. It's location is very central. Can highly recommend.

The property is very well appointed and exactly what we needed. Kindly provided tea, coffee etc and the communication about collection of keys and how to switch on the shower was great.

Location was very short walk (once you get your bearings) from the centre. Nice little quiet town with plenty of entertainment an lovely scenery. Tesco is a couple min walk so very convenient for milk ect.

Cottage seems a bit run down, only little things. It is modern but some lights didn't work properly or at all, toilet roll hold hanging on to the wall by its teeth. Milk in the fridge was out of date but that really is not the end of the world unless your my misses who made a cuppa with the milk and soon spat it out again.

The cottage is centrally located, but peaceful as well. It was immaculately clean, and relaxing. The beds were very comfortable.

It was hard to heat in the very cold weather we were having, maybe because of the high ceilings.

Soap would have been good along with a dish cloth and 4th person to shower had a cold shower as no hot water left. Bed settee in living room was very hard/uncomfortable.

Location fine for access to pubs hotels and shops including a supermarket. The cottage was clean and newly decorated. Kitchen was well equipped with cooker, fridge and storage for utensils. tea coffee and milk were provided. Kim who organised access for us was great and turned the heat on for us prior to our early arrival.Our intention was to have a short reconnaissance to plan for Spring and Summer visits. It was what we were looking for with perhaps a longer stay. Again Kim was a lovely friendly person and her help was much appreciated.

The heating although working didn't seem adequate for the building and could have been warmer even on a higher setting . The fire in the lounge was disconnected . This was a pity as we could have had the benefit of using the lounge without heating the whole house. Perhaps this could be reinstated with a time switch to prevent leaving switched on ?

Good location, perfect for the Glentress half marathon.
