When booking for 2 rooms or more, different policies and additional supplements will apply. Breakfast is served between 8:30 and 9:00, and is preordered the night before. When booking, please provide Thornbank House with your approximate arrival time, and your mobile telephone number (if available). Guests can enjoy use of the spa and fitness facilities at the Choices Health Club, which is 2 miles from the property. There are complimentary passes for the swimming pool, sauna, steam room, jacuzzi, solarium and gym. Thornbank will keep your card details in case of any damage or policy breaches. The hotel reserves the right to pre-authorize the guarantee card up to the full amount of the booking. The total room occupancy includes all children and infants. Room occupancy cannot be exceeded. The free gym and spa is subject to availability, located 10 minutes drive from the property.This property does not accommodate bachelor(ette) or similar parties. Please inform of your expected arrival time in advance. You can use the Special Requests box when booking, or contact the property directly using the contact details in your confirmation. Payment before arrival by bank transfer is required. The property will contact you after you book to provide instructions. A deposit may be required at the property.

"Wonderful guest house, great location and lovely hosts"

Central for walking to both Windermere and Bowness giving us options daily. Room was lovely with a nice touch of an upgrade an a homemade flapjack to welcome us. Mark and Jane were so lovely, very welcoming and couldn’t do enough to make our stay a great one. Even kindly printed me a letter I needed urgently whilst away, which was very much appreciated :)

Nothing, we would definitely stay again and recommend

Great location for both Windermere, Bowness, and further afield. The room was lovely and clean, hosts were welcoming, and the breakfast was delicious. All in all, we had a lovely stay!

"We’ve been before and we will be back again"

Good location, good parking, gym / spa facilities included, staff members checked up on us to make sure everything was okay. Friendly staff. About 5/10 minutes walk from Lake Windermere. Nice place to chill out and relax.

The low ceilings but not sure much can be done to avoid that!

I liked how accommodating Jane was and all the personal touches to make our stay extra special. Even home made flapjacks waiting for us on arrival with a lovely note. Personalised directions to the property, and clear communication throughout. Nothing was too much trouble.

Upon arriving at Thornbank Guest house, we were greeted by Mark who was very friendly and gave us info about our room and stay. The building looks inviting from outside, it’s clean and well maintained with some colourful bedding plants. We headed up to our room, it was cleaned to a high standard and well equipped with toiletries, and tea/coffee & biscuits. Beds were comfy and we all had a great sleep. Location was perfect, around a 10 min walk from Bowness and about 10/15min walk to Windermere. Jane & Mark were easy to contact and when we texted them about breakfast arrangements, they were more than accommodating, we really appreciated it. We would 100% love to return.

I couldn’t fault a thing.
