Hidden Gem Canal Facing Retreat with lovely walks

This cottage is in a great place, right beside the canal and within walking distance of 3 pubs, so no problem getting a meal. It had gorgeous vies and lovely walks along the canal. The canal boats and boaties were lovely and very friendly. There was plenty of bird life on the canal and lots of lovely ducklings to fall in love with. The downstairs bathroom was good and it has a nice kitchen and lovely lounge overlooking the canal.

The stairs were very steep to the top floor bedroom and there was only a cold water tap in the ensuite sink. Sadly, we couldn’t use the top floor shower as it was impossible to get the water temperature balance right, so only managed cold showers.

Fabulous location, well appointed and clean property, excellent hosting great communication and flexibility.

The stairs could be a little challenging for older or little ones legs.

Gorgeous cottage in relaxing surroundings. Loved having morning coffee outside the cottage watching barges go by and feeding the ducks. Comfortable bed with on suite bathroom and shower. Full kitchen including microwave. Ideal location with walks along the canal and on the bus route.

The location was fantastic. We really enjoyed the walk along the canal and into the woods, the bluebells were stunning. The cottage was very comfortable and had everything we needed. Check in was easy and problem free. We would stay again.

Location, cottage has all you need for a relaxing break. Made friends with the ducks. By 3rd day they were waiting outside the door! So lovely to sit and watch the barges go by. Being on the canal there are such lovely walks to be had and The lovely Tame Otter Pub next door and The red lion across the bridge. Parking is at the Tame otter but literally less than a minute to the cottage.

Location, comfort, en-suite

Self catering location by the canal. Everything you need for a comfortable short stay. Complimentary parking agreed with a pub opposite. Short and easy walk from carpark to cottage. A pleasant village with two good pubs by the canal opposite over and under the bridge. Don't fall in the canal hahaha. Convenient for visits to beautiful Lichfield. Tamworth also worth a visit, an easy walk, by bus or car. Also on the bus route to Lichfield. Outside seating by the canal. A busy road but surprisingly quiet at night helped by double glazing. Two bathrooms, one being en suite off the 2nd floor bedroom. Will we return? Yes.

16 plastic plants including ugly hanging outside . Hideous and serve no useful purpose which fail to lift the spirit. Trip hazard at the front door step. Bit of a nuisance not having a hot water supply at the en suite sink for shaving but no big deal. The bedding sheets had an odd aroma.
