In person, the staff member was friendly and apologetic for errors

Main thing to consider, this place is absolutely not worth the price they charge. They also sent us both the wrong address (for one of their other nearby properties), and the wrong key code for entrance to the correct property. This made check in a nightmare, and the staff member was insistent on the phone that we only needed to check our messages to find the information, when it was actually just incorrect. Appliances are also very hard to use to get basics like hot water or do laundry, with about an 80 page japanese manual for them. I would advise the owners to get a normal kettle or at least a pot to use on the oven.

ロフトの上が暑かった。 食器が種類が多く食事が食べやすかったが、サイズ感が大きく洗うにもシンクが狭くやりにくかった。 バスタオルが洗われていないものなのか、水分をとりにくく気になった。 使い終わったタオルをいれるかごがあれば使いやすい。

I usually stay in great accommodation but I am often too lazy to leave a review (sorry!), I am also quite picky. This place deserves the effort of a review and we stayed there last night. Everything about this stay was top class. For starters, it is your idealistic cabin in the woods, comparable to a Swiss chalet. The furniture and fittings were of a very high standard with the sofa and bed being comfortable, lovely tableware, coffee machines, TV, sound systems. Everything was classy. The place has a large projecter which my partner and I used to snuggle down with a movie in bed (this was our first ever break away from our kids). The lovely host came around as we checked in to arrange our breakfast, the baked good tasted lovely. The house isn't far from Kurokawa Onsen which on its own is a lovely place to visit. It can be a little difficult to find so just ensure you compare the picture map on the booking and compare it to Google maps and you will be fine. My partner and I have promised to bring our children back here for Christmas in a few years as we couldn't imagine a better place to stay and cosey in. Thanks for having us!

the host waited for us at the property although we were late, and the house smelled great with a home cooked soup and bread (part of prepaid breakfast)! it was wonderful and felt like coming home.

Beautiful location. The property had everything we could possibly need. The onsen was a wonderful way to end a busy day
