Small family hotel with beautiful view of the Ella and train line. You fall in love with view. Staff is really friendly and helpful. I can recommend this accomodation for all type of travelers.

Ayubowan is a family run bnb located at steep hill about 15 minutes away from Ella town, the road to the bnb is a bit narrow however if one could reach before it is advisable though Nallaka our host did help us with his down the steep road as our taxi driver was not sure about the drivability of the curves. But tuktuk drivers find it easy to maneuver the twist and turns of the road. Its a simple place with a great view... and warm hospitality offered by Nallaka and Lakshya. We enjoyed the surroundings walking along the railway track to the Ella town as well as our early morning hike to the ella rock. The trails to the ella rock is very interesting too with lots good feel of village life and paddy fields, vegetable farms ... and we found a cozy and cute eatery ( River Restaurant) run by a local family on our way down the ella rock trails, and we had some refreshing tea, they served home cooked meals too. It was a very hygienic and well well done little place with real warm people. Our host Lakshya went out of her way to make us comfortable and her dog was a real - quick companion for our sons too. Over all we found no concerns except that the hand shower that only trickled water for a quick shower for a family of four to take turns! but it was not a big deal... we managed it!

The place itself is peaceful, comfortable, and perfect for a relaxing getaway. Everything was well taken care of, and the whole experience felt effortless and enjoyable. Definitely one of the best stays we’ve had—will surely visit again!

Fantastisch verblijf hoog in de bergen. Met van alles te doen op loopafstand.Ella is 20 minuutjes over het spoor. Ella rock 10 minuutjes over het spoor. Verder is er van alles te doen in Ella en als je geen zin hebt om te lopen is de host altijd bereid om je te brengen met zijn busje. Ook het diner is heerlijk en het ontbijt is voortreffelijk. Verder nog een vermeld hoe aardig de Host en zijn familie zijn.

Soms lopen er wat hondjes rond die voor kleine kinderen een beetje bedreigend kunnen zijn, alhoewel de host zijn uiterste best deed om ze weg te houden.

Our first visit to Ella was made so special by our stay at Ayubowan Ella. A must stay for anyone visiting Ella for the first time! The hotel is a stunning, impressive location with incredible views. We especially loved the scenic walk along the train tracks, it was so peaceful. What really stood out, though, was the hospitality. The family treated us so kindly, making us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. If you stay at Ayubowan Ella, you have to try the food! Lakshi made us the most delicious, authentic meals . It was easily the best food we had during our trip. We highly recommend staying here if you want a true taste of Sri Lankan warmth.

We had an absolutely fantastic stay at this hotel! From the very first moment, we felt incredibly welcome. The host and hostess are truly kind and helpful — they go above and beyond to make your stay as comfortable as possible. The view is beautiful, and the location right next to the railway gives it a unique charm. It’s also a great place to go for a nice walk and enjoy the surroundings. What really makes this place special is the personal touch. The host has extensive knowledge of the area and helps with everything — from recommending the best spots to sharing locations and even arranging activities. You can really tell he used to work as a tour bus driver; he knows all the hidden gems. One of the highlights of our stay was celebrating with fireworks together — such a fun and memorable experience! Everything else was great as well: the breakfast was tasty and filling, and the price-quality ratio is excellent. In short: a wonderful, warm, and complete experience. Highly recommended for a stay of one or two nights!
