The Buddle Inn

The property staff, facilities and food exceeded my expectations. In particular, the little details such as the starlink WiFi and the warm greeting we received. Even though the staff were busy when we arrived, on a Saturday evening, they made us feel particularly welcome.

This famous 300-year-old smugglers' inn (known to every Isle of Wight resident I spoke to) has long been a popular restuarnat, but just opened as an inn a year ago following a renovation. It's right on the south coast (the prettiest part of the island) with great sea views, excellent food and local ales. The beds are very comfortable.

I really enjoyed my 3 nights and I can’t fault the place at all. Location was great and the sea view was a bonus. My room was comfortable and the staff went out of their way to please, they were so friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was absolutely delicious. I can’t speak highly enough of the Buddle and its staff. I’ll definitely stay here again. Absolutely Fabulous 😊

The staff were helpful. The room was clean. We had a pleasant stay in spite of the inclement weather.

We had to go outdoors to access our room. But considering the history of the Inn this was a minor inconvenience.
