KA Surf Hostel

We stayed at KA Surfhostel for almost three weeks and felt at home from the first moment. The cabana is new, cozy, clean and surrounded by lush greenery. Every morning we were surprised with a healthy and colorful breakfast, prepared with love. The hostel is run by the sweetest family, their kindness and hospitality made our stay truly special. A perfect spot if you want to be just outside the busy main street, yet within walking distance of great restaurants and the beach. A true hidden gem!

I had a wonderful time at this hostel! The dorms are super cozy, with plenty of space to store your things. I especially loved the outdoor bathrooms, which add a unique and refreshing touch to the stay. The whole place is beautifully designed, creating a relaxing and comfortable atmosphere. What truly makes this hostel special is the incredibly warm and welcoming family running it. They put so much love and care into everything, making you feel right at home. Every morning, you get a delicious breakfast, including a fresh fruit platter and a Sri Lankan surprise dish, which was always a highlight of my day. Plus, you can choose the time you want to have breakfast, which makes it super convenient.

It’s a calm and quiet place, a wonderful staff, caring owners and clean. I had a really good time even i havnt spent much time there. beds are compfy and it has aircon and warm water.

Absolutely Perfect – The Best Experience in Sri Lanka! If I could give this place more than 5 stars, I absolutely would! From the moment I arrived, I felt like part of the family. Nadeepa, her brother, and their entire family are some of the kindest, most welcoming people I have ever met. Their hospitality goes far beyond anything I could have expected – they truly care about their guests and make sure you have an unforgettable stay. The hostel itself is spotlessly clean, which was a huge plus for me. Every corner, from the dorms to the bathrooms and common areas, is impeccably maintained. It’s rare to find such a high level of cleanliness in a hostel, and it made my stay even more comfortable. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, perfect for meeting other travelers or simply relaxing and enjoying the peaceful surroundings. Whether it’s sharing a home-cooked meal, getting local tips, or just having great conversations, the family makes this place feel like home. If you’re looking for a place that offers not just a bed, but an experience filled with warmth, kindness, and a true taste of Sri Lankan hospitality, look no further. This is, without a doubt, the best hostel I’ve ever stayed in!

I stayed in one of the Cabanas for two nights. The bed was very comfy, the Cabana is nicely designed and clean. It’s a bit out of town but therefore you hear neither cars nor trains. The family is welcoming and friendly and prepares a simple and delicious breakfast every morning. I’d definitely recommend staying here if you also want to connect with the local life a bit.

I stayed in a private room. But by far the best room I’ve stayed in hostels! The big bed was super comfy & the water pressure and air con was so strong (things I’ve struggled to find in Sri Lanka). More so the owners really make this place! It’s family owned, and you can tell they really care about their new business. Breakfast is lovely served with coffee/tea, fruit and different mains every day. They go above and beyond to help with any request you have. I wish them and their business all the best :)

The family is so so so friendly , they are personal and care for everybody like you are one of their children. They are kind hearted honest people

Nothing not to like, it’s a piece of heaven

The owners were incredibly friendly and helpful. Family style breakfast every morning was a yummy rotation of fruit and local items- was a great way to meet other travelers even if staying in a private room. Private cabana was an amazing deal, and the owners were so helpful to let me extend another night. Super close walk to Kabalana beach.

Wifi was pretty slow. Not much of a common area to hangout
