Elegant Flat in Oxford Center with Parking

The location was only a 10-15 min walk from the centre of Oxford which made it ideal. It also had its own parking space which was very convenient.

The heating system is a little noisy although the flat was warm. Could have done with an instruction folder to explain how it works and also how to get more hot water as it ran off a tank. The parking space is pretty narrow and requires care to manoeuvre into. My advice is reverse in!

The interior and location was great. With AC during a hotter day this was ideal and everything was very clean.

The parking is super tight but central so worth it. The doors need to be painted as they don't match the modern interior but this is minor.

The flat was a good Central location. It was only a short walk for the city centre and all local amenities. The flat had everything we needed and was of a high quality and was very comfortable. Despite being next to a main road it was nice and quiet. There was a folder that gave instructions how to use/work everything, which is very useful. The A/C was useful because the flat was quite warm at night.

On arrival the flat hadn't been cleaned, however the owner was very apologetic, stating the cleaner was delayed. whilst we were out the flat was made up.

The location is by Folly Bridge. Boat trips go from here. There is a tea rooms, restaurant and pub (Head of River), all easily accessible from the apartment. You can walk directly out of the apartments complex onto the bridge. You aren't far from the centre of Oxford and can walk to pretty much all of the attractions if you have a basic level of fitness (we are in our late sixties). As we arrived very early in Oxford we couldn't go to the apartment directly. We parked at Redbridge park & ride which is about a mile away from the apartment. It cost £5 to park and a return bus for the two of us. It was then a short but slow drive to the apartment (to the left just over the bridge). There is a designated parking space. Note, the spaces are separated by vertical posts so there is no room for error when parking. Nonetheless with parking in short supply in Oxford centre this was a huge positive. The apartment is a studio flat. It was immaculate throughout. Bedroom is a reasonable size. There is a separate kitchen and bathroom. The shower is good.

There is road noise even through the night. This was particularly noticeable on the first night when we had one of the windows open. There is an air conditioning unit in the bedroom which offers an alternative to having any windows open. We used this on the second night. However this is very noisy so you have to put up with that too! Take your choice! For a short stay however I think most people can put up with this. However for poor sleepers it may be a problem. A further small point. It seems that you are expected to take your waste (sorted and separated) to a shared waste room. However the key code isn't provided. Luckily a resident opened the door for me.

This was such a great place to stay in Oxford! Self contained unit, exceptionally clean and comfortable. Spacious, with modern facilities. Very good communication with the owner. Quiet residence right on the Thames River. Very pleasant riverside pub just steps away. Easy walking distance to central Oxford. 20 minute walk from the train station. 5 minute walk to convenience grocery store. Kettle, tea and coffee provided. Great kitchen.
