The Lake House

The views are beautiful, proximity to everything we needed was great, the kitchen was well stocked and everything was clean and tidy. Loved the blankets and throws in the lounge and the wood fire.

It would have been helpful to have soap/bodywash in the showers, more flannels and hand towels. There weren't enough breakfast bowls for all of us to eat at the same time 5 bowls, 6 people. It would have been nice to have a heater in the dining/lounge area for a quick heat as it took a while to get the fire going. The bed in the room with the stag horns was felt very cold all night at our feet regardless of the extra blanket. May have been damp? But the weather was very wet and thunderstorm - totally out of your control, I think the lightening took out the power for an hour or two but when we got back from our lunch out it was back on.

Beautiful view of the mountain, comfortable beds, lovely firewood.

There was no hot water, so that we couldn’t shower during winter. Unfortunately, the host didn’t believe us, which was very disappointing. They also refused to offer any discount despite the issue. The washing machine was very dirty and didn’t seem clean enough to use. Additionally, the rug on the wall was unsafe—it was very slippery and could easily cause someone to fall.

Loved the proximity to the river and trails, and loved the fireplace. The games on hand were a nice touch. The area was quiet and felt safe.

The road noise was loud inside - especially with the rucks, but using earplugs to sleep solved that.

Window sills seems to have some molds. Two of the rooms didn't have heaters.

4 rooms with double beds! Made it easier for 4 couples to travel together! The ensuite bathroom was handy for a large group, the beds were so cozy and the house was perfect for the rainy weather we ended up having our hike cancelled so spent alot more time at the house

There was some rubbish from the previous stayers left in the bins which left less space for our rubbish being a large group we didn’t want to leave excess and get a $60 charge as noted
