Great location, all you need for a short stay.

Overall location & place were great. For 1 night, it worked well for us. For 2 people, space was sufficient. Everything was clearly labeled especially in the kitchen, so we wouldn't make any mistake. We only checked in with 2 carry-ons (as were traveling to London the next morning & left our larger luggage at our daughter's apt), so it was easy. Andrew, our host, was kind to give us the lockbox code in advance as we are coming from the US, and finding wifi access to get important check-in information can be challenging with an out-of-country provider. Location is great, down the road from coffee shops & major stores, & major bus/tram routes. A little far from sights, but didn't mind walking. It was tucked away in an alley, so very quiet, couldn't even hear the tram which was on the other side of the building. Even with a pub right in front, couldn't hear any noise. To add, this isn't our first EDI visit.

Upon entering the front door, the steep stairs would have been challenging with larger luggage or those who cannot climb stairs. The apt was physically tight. The value is a little high especially after we returned to EDI, we stayed at another venue across Haymarket street which was set up like an apt, with spacious living/dining room set-up, and the cost was not much higher than this place. Since laundry is hung dried generally in UK, there would have been limited space to set up the drying racks.

Breakfast was not part of the Stay and the location was in good place and easy tram/bus routes to other places.

When arrived having to go upstairs with a heavy suitcase is not ideal on those stairs. A lift would have been nice. The shaver plug is in the wrong place as you need to keep the cabinet open without looking at your face when shaving. And finally, if the TV is going to be used, none of the terrestrial channels like BBC1 ,2,3,4, ITV, Ch 4 and 5 were available, and not only that even BBC Scotland. Not a good advert.

• Really nice for short stay • Very responsive owner. • Excellent use of space (it's like a loft conversion). Really well thought out • Light throughout • Wifi good • Different colour towels for each person (a rarity but important for hygiene) • Good storage: drawers, shelves and hanging space • Two bedroom stools can be used as laundry baskets or extra storage as well • Very bright bed LED reading lights • Shower excellent (as long as tap isn’t running)

• Pillows are very flat, I had to use an additional cushion underneath • No socket for charger on one side of the bed (blocked by heavy furniture) • Pub opposite can be noisy but stopped at our bedtime • Small kitchen lacks microwave, freezer compartment or small sharp knife
