Theo's Cottage at Ngā Manu Nature Reserve

The location. The fact that you can just stroll out into a Reserve Ngā Manu with all its fabulous tracks, restoration plantings and bird life. The kowhai trees in flower were looking absolutely splendid. Operations manager Rhys gave us a fantastic introduction into Dactylanthus and Mistletoe. We feel much more confident that we can establish populations in our project area, too. And team member Andrew was utmost helpful in the booking process, answering all NZ questions. .

That nobody was able to influence the weather. It was wet and grey all five days we stayed at Kapiti coast, which reduced our planned activities a lot. But staying in Theo's cottage made the dull days much easier to still relax and have a lovely holiday.

I booked Theo's Cottage for a coupje of reasons. The location: close to a friend's home and close (enough) to other points of interest. The type of accommodation: self contained. The special surrounds: being on the property of Ngā Manu, which was on my list to visit as dear friend Joy had volunteered here and had loved it.

Waking up and walking through the reserve before anyone arrived is a special experience- the bird life is amazing. The cottage itself is clean and very well equipped.

Beautiful surrounds, with bush and bird call. In the evening we had the reserve to ourselves and had breakfast on the deck with the tui in the morning. A magic little spot
