The New Astoria Hotel

Everything about this place was straight out of a horror story. Bitten by fleas bedding stunk of stale cigarette smoke, one bed had fag ash under the pillow the shower cubicle was grimy on the doors,the main entrance had a stale smoke smell. It was so bad we came home after the first night. Signs of smoking out the window not been cleaned. Overall it was filthy and spoilt the time away we had planned to see family. Thanks for the unpleasant memories.

The self service reception was a first for me and I rather liked it. Received a text message on the day of the bookng, during the morning with information reagarding the self service check-in. Door codes provided and good accurate information. The room was a small double on the top floor. Comfy bed, clean linen, good bathroom, decent size with a lovely shower and hot water, instantly from the new basin tap, very good. Nice clean towels too.

The shower walk in door was a bit loose or wonky. Drainage from the shower was too slow. A little noisey at times from other residents, but that was okay.

Номери дуже маленькі та брудні, брудно всюди - стіни, килим, мебель, у душовій пліснява, брудна сантехніка. Все погано.

I liked the location and the beds were comfortable

Ok so we got there, and we have to use pads and codes instead of keys which for me wasn't a problem but my dad and his partner really struggled with there's, firstly they couldn't get into their room because the pad ran out of battery 🫣, ok its not a biggy but when you've been travelling and walking around you just want to chill for a bit, someone came round within 10 mins so it was sorted its just that it shouldn't really be running out of battery! Then at 12 am they came back and they couldn't get into their room because they couldn't work the pad so they had to wake me up so I could get them in their room, can't beat a good old key! Lol..the cleanliness wasn't that good 2bh, the skirting boards were full of dust and on the drawers were spillage down them.
