Wild boar barn

Wild boar barn is a gorgeous property in a stunning location! Clean, comfortable, amazing hosts, hot tub was a massive hit as were the goats and the pigs! CANNOT wait to return 😊

The Barn is amazing. From start to finish we had the best time. We loved the visits from the animals especially Dale and Brennan the goats. The barn inside was so comfortable and the views are out of this world. Warm and cosy and an amazing shower too. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook all of our meals. Lovely walks nearby, we didn’t have the best weather but would love to return in the summer and experience more of the local walks from the barn. The hot tub was lovely and warm and Brianne when we arrived we made use of this every evening with perfect views over the fells. Probably the nicest property we’ve stayed in.

Having to go home :(

Beautiful location, loved seeing all the farm animals and the views were just incredible. Caroline was so friendly and made us feel so welcome, felt like home away from home. Will visit again

The accommodation is surrounded by stunning hillside views and is very private, nicely located aside the main farmhouse to ensure zero disturbance. Gorgeous farm pigmy goats visit the backyard; the ground floor bedroom allows stunning views. The house is equipped to the highest tech standard, with underfloor heating and many smart amenities. The outside hot tub is spacious and ready to use.

One day there was no electricity (and consequently no water, too) for eight hours, the other - no water for about 4 hours. There was also an inconvenient ceiling light that was impossible to turn off, we learned the other day from the owner that one has to have an app to operate it (not sure it was in the house manual). The house manual was unclear about when the use of the hot tub is allowed - it strongly suggested against using when the weather is windy, and we had to ask the owner what it means. Lost two days of what was apparently good weather for the hot tub because the instructions were not clear. The owner was helpful warning us in advance about the electricity issue, brought us fire logs, suggested £50 goodwill compensation and an opportunity to move to a nearby pub for the night once it became clear that the electricity is not coming back at 15:30 as scheduled. However, it was unclear that the pub room booking was not optional - while we were undecided, the owner made a booking which we did not use because the electricity came back at 17:40 after eight hours. We later learned that the pub room booking was the only compensation she was meant to make and £50 is void. Meaning we got no compensation in the end for either one day without utilities, or another half day with no water and also a night with the ceiling lights up. The owner suggested one night free next time, but I doubt we will use the offer. The accommodation would benefit from a second frying pan and potentially a small "starter kit" of fire logs.
